Oh... My.... God..... Twins!?!?!?!?!?!?!

And a man who is in 3 places at once?!?
Do you really think the same man has
somehow managed to appear in 3 places
at the same time within feet from each other?
And twins?! They didn't have twins in the 40's.
They didn't appear till 1950's at least.

Nice to see someone show up on page 13, read 2 or 3 responses and then get all "I know so much and you are all idiots" on us.

Please read ALL 13 pages and then tell us what you think without all the attitude, maybe?

When does school get back in session, PLEASE TELL ME ITS SOON?

Umm you could not be more incorrect. I read this months and months ago.
Read it all. Absorbed it all, and am pointing out the fact that the thread went
from time travel, to 3 people being in the same picture, to TWINS!!

Not calling you idiots, however "I know" 3 people cant appear in the same
place at the same time. And you wanna talk about school being in session?!
Grow up, with your half ass attempt to to question my education and
experience.

What would you like me to provide my thoughts on? Which wild claim?

recap = no one said it was "impossible" for twins to be there, it was just an aside to the entire discussion, Just a "wow look at that" comment, this should have been easy to understand from reading the comments, no?

Since you volunteered, please explain ( in technical terms ) WHY time travel is absolutley impossible.

Please explain how three people ( or they appear to be the same ) can be in the same shot without 1. time travel or 2. photo tampering?

One second thought, don't bother as I am sure nothing but more condescending retorts will be offered up.

I hold something in my mind when I visit ATS. Before I respond to a thread I remind myself:

1. Do I have anything to contribute to this thread ( in a positive manner )

2. What are my motives for posting?

3. I can disagree and still not be an ass.

4. I read and absorb and COMPREHEND an entire thread before passing anything that could resemble judgement.

Thanks,

Dorian Soran

Just read through this entire thread I think it's quite sad how fast people just shout photoshop when they obviously have no idea. It is plainly a genuine image do you think museums have nothing better to do than alter photographs from the 1940's by adding a guy in 1940's stuff.

Granted he could probably get away with walking around today without to many looks but there is really nothing modern there and the camera is clearly of a very old type I can see the ridges where the lens pulls forward.

My opinion is genuine photo no time travel needed.

Werent some of the cars in the photo from the early 50,s Im thinking early rodder / beat dude....

Cant see Any blatant photoshopping tbh , people have mentioned the shadow but it actually looks bang on to me ...even down to the rippling on his hair compared to the guy in foregrounds hat , all hits nicely

I didn't say anywhere in my 2 responses that time travel was impossible.
We're traveling through time now, right?! Backwards though, I dunno. It
would be cool and some interesting theories have been thrown out there
about it and I am open to the idea and welcome any scientific research.

That would be off topic considering the topic at hand is whether or not the
guy pointed out is a time traveler. Perhaps you can create another thread
pointing out your claim.

And now for my analysis on the time traveling hipster:

First of all have you read the source? It's a blog from a man who stumbled
across this photo while researching a place he had just visited in Canada.
The author felt that the gentleman in question seemed out of place. Right?
We good so far?!

No, well here's a quote from his blog:

Something about the pic seemed not right and then I realized that there is a
guy who obviously was caught in a time-warp.

Without any research he just "realized" that this guy was "obviously" caught
in a time warp.Seriously?! This blogger, whom you have no idea of his
credentials or background "realizes"this as an "obvious" time warp. This is
your source?!

Your credible blogger source goes on to say in his write up:

Ten minutes before this photo he was in a dance club in Manchester listening to the Happy Mondays

There you have it! Your credible source and expertise on Time Traveling.

What's that?! His clothes are out of place?! And he's wearing glasses?!

That's pretty neat...at first I was like WOW...that does seem odd.

But I thought some investigation was in order.

The first thing that struck me was the sunglasses...they seemed really modern. So I did some looking and found this.
Here are sunglasses from a 1940s movie the sunglasses look "similar" to those in the picture:

Next of course was the "shirt". I did some looking and couldn't find a t-shirt that would have a logo on it like that. But we don't really know it is a t-shirt because it is covered by the coat. So I did more looking for anything with a letter on it like that...and came across the letter sweater...worn by varsity high school or college sports players. I found a couple examples...can't really verify the dates on these...but the best I could do in a short time.

The good news Doc is that he's not the Rani.

You can take that to the bank.

So, why don't you nip back in the ol' blue box and see for yourself?

It looks like Skinner from the X-Files is those 3 same guys...

X-Files = Aliens = Evil = The need for The Doctor.

I have to step back on the fake remark, the hair makes it seem legit. Nothing else is really out of place though to warrant a "time traveler" response.

I guess maybe I should make a new thread as has been suggessted simply because I do not think the hippster dufus is the time traveler, but the man that appears to have 3 of himself in the shot. I do apologize for bringing up an expanded point on the thread. I figured it was self evident that I was talking about the SAME photo but not the SAME man as everyone else.

When it comes to people on this board, no more assuming on my part they will be able to handle a sub topic of a topic in the same thread....when WILL those school bells ring?

Not trying to hijack your thread but i was looking through some old pictures of my great grandad and found this picture taken in 1943. Sorry the quality is not great because i just took a digital picture of the photo.

You need to move picture to the right to see the possible time traveler.

you might be on to something here. i know the guy in the picture and he often says things like "back in the 40's..." and "when i was living in a different time...". he's 29 and eccentric so i just assumed he was having a go. great find.

Who else saw this. And when I contacted him no one responded, typical. He seems to know what hes talking about though

He looks like a pilot to me... the goggles/sunglasses he's wearing are typical aviator steampunk and his clothes aren't that out of place either. Perhaps he flew light aircraft (who does that in a suit?) and had only recently landed.

I was just thumbing through this for the first time didn't read all till I came to your summary.
I too immediately thought letterman sweater from a college or club of the time. If that is the case then the person would be of college age. So it wouldn't seem out of place for a kid that age to be walking around with some style of welders goggles on (which is what they look like to me)
When I did a google search to get an example, the second image returned was the one in question.

Yes -- they may look a little like welders goggles, but they could also easily be aviator or motorcycle sunglasses with leather sides that were not that uncommon in the 1940s.
Vintage Aviator/Motorcycle Sunglasses with Leather Sides

I also showed in another post that the letter shirt is also something that could be found in the 1940s, such as on the cover of this 1942 "Archies" comic book:
Sweater with Letter Graphic

I also showed that the haircut was also NOT uncommon to the time:
Actor James Dean, early 1950s
Another James Dean photo, 1950-ish
Football Player Elroy Hirsch, late 1940s
Sir Edmund Hillary, 1953

The posters here who think this guy is "totally" out of place in the 1940s has a very narrow view of what people in the 1940s were like. Sure, this guy may be "hipper-looking" than the people around him, but that doesn't make him a time-traveler.

For example, today in 2010, if you put my "hip" 17-year old cousin in a room full of my older aunt's and uncles, he would look out-of-place, also.
