Tensions are high in Indonesia as it appeared that a months-long investigation into the $700 million bailout of Bank Century will end without prosecution of the country's finance minister and vice president.
Many legislators saw the ouster of Sri Mulyani Indrawati and Boediono as essential to reform that could lead to a sovereign debt
upgrade, according to the FT.

Well, it looks like the Indonesians have more of a sense of community and fighting spirit than those who reside in the good ole' US of A. They were able to see the hypocrisy and the madness in their system because of 1 bailout. We've already allowed 2, and guess what Fannie Mae is asking for another 15 billion bailout after the Senate decided to take away unemployment extensions.

No, actually we aren't. The fliptop heads in DC can say the USA is a model of democracy all they wish, but we are not a deomcracy at all. The United States is a Constitutional Republic. Them saying we're a democracy is purely sunshine and farts to make We the People feel like we actually play a role in policy making and the direction of the nation. In fact, in the few circumstances in which we have gone towards direct democracy (an example being states which have passed 2/3rds laws in which all tax increases must be brought before the voters) the government has decried them and villified them, rather than stating "THIS is democracy."

Im a Champagne Socialist But can anybody really define Democracy? an if yea come up with the right answer , compare it what you call Democracy in the USA to day an see if there are any similarities !
Democracy is a political government either carried out directly by the people (direct democracy) or by means of elected representatives of the people (Representative democracy). The term is derived from the Greek: δημοκρατία - (dēmokratía) "rule of the people",[1] which was coined from δῆμος (dêmos) "people" and κράτος (krátos) "power", in the middle of the fifth-fourth century BC to denote the political systems then existing in some Greek city-states, notably Athens following a popular uprising in 508 BC.[2] Even though there is no specific, universally accepted definition of 'democracy',[3] there are two principles that any definition of democracy includes, equality and freedom.[4][dubious – discuss] These principles are reflected by all citizens being equal before the law, and having equal access to power,[5] and freedom is secured by legitimized rights and liberties, which are generally protected by a constitution.[6][7]
