Things like dead social programs that enable the poorest to mooch off our taxes for their entire lives,

Oh so its alright for the wealthiest to get massive tax cuts at the expense of the rest of us or for corporations to pay little to no taxes or get bailouts and tax cuts?

I would rather my money go to helping people who need it than giving it away to the haves and the have mores.

I hope you never have to go ask for assistance cause its not like that anymore and hasn't been for some time now.

all beck has done and been doing is tacking some of the truth and twisting it he still is talking about the right and the left when we all know they are ran by the same private interests

Glen Beck:

"I hate spending!! Republicans have spent us to death! I love Ronald Reagan and I will ignore the 3 trillion dollar deficit he created before he left office! He's not a Progressive as Progressive just want to spend money!"

The guy is an asshat, blowhard, hypocritical LIAR who spent 3 hours of his radio show today gloating about his CPAC speech.

Really no he didn't. He covered how people were either misreporting what he said or not covering it at all. That was maybe half. The rest was the overton window or how the healthcare bill was potentially going to be rammed up out butts again

Glenn Beck says all our problems are caused by the Socialists or the Communists but the real root of our problems are the central banks. This is the key to understand his dis-info. Has he ever talked about the Federal Reserve and the central banking cartel? I don't watch him anymore but I don't think so. It was him that provided me the last straw and I got rid of my TV when he called "truthers" terrorists. I'm done with TV. Watch and you'll never know the truth about anything.

This just in, he now believes in global warming.

“You’d be an idiot not to notice the temperature change,” he says. He also says there’s a legit case that global warming has, at least in part, been caused by mankind. He has tried to do his part by buying a home with a “green” design and using energy-saving products. “I’m willing to do anything but use the CFLs,” he says of compact fluorescent light bulbs. “I put them in once and couldn’t stand the way they lit up the room.”

This just shows you don't watch Beck and didn't watch the speech posted. Beck rails against the Fed regularly. And he blames the Progressives. Progressives started the Fed and all of the entitlement programs that are bankrupting this nation. Basically what you said you believe above, is exactly what Beck said in this speech. Seriously, take the time and go watch it. You may change your mind about the man.

This is the SOP of the misinformed.

Someone becomes too famous, too mainstream and ANYTHING they say MUST be destroyed by character assassination.

I find ATS becoming worse each and everyday.

Watch them, it is quite sad watching their ignorance,

As far as I can tell, there was no content to his speech. I've heard the neocons AND liberals say that same garbage for 10 years or more. I've heard similar crap come out of the mouths of Barack Obama, George Bush, and all the other politicians that love to comment on the state of the world, the things that need to be changed, but do nothing about it.

He's just another guy getting a paycheck while the majority of this country suffers.

My work is done here. Enjoy.

Are you saying you actually watched the speech? if so, how could you possibly say there was no content given all the statistics (not made up by him, coming from govt), and history he presented? I understand if you want to disagree with his conclusions, but what you have kept saying over and over again, and the fact that you said there was zero content and he's just repeating what others say, to me shows you didn't watch this speech. He ripped on Republicans and Democrats, he ripped on Bush and Obama. He was hardly some Republican drone. There is seriously no way that you watched this speech if you say there is no content and he was regurgitating neo-con talking points from the last 10 years.

I understand and agree. The saddest thing to me is that so many people now treat current events and politics like is a team sport. Supporting everything from one team, ripping on everything from the other. Some people from all sides do this. This isn't team sports people. It won't hurt you to rip on the political party you most closely associate yourself with, or to agree with something from the other side. Its called intellectual honesty.

However, that being said, some people are intellectually honest and really do consider what others have to say. I have seen people from all over the political spectrum on this site consider something from someone else and say something along the lines of "I can understand your view point, but respectfully disagree." I sincerely don't mind what anyone believes as long as they can tell me why factually and philosophically, and does not put down anyone that doesn't agree with them. Many people here are lacking this, but not everyone.

Ignorance? Hardly.

All ya got to do is watch the lies...misinformation and general goofiness of becks shows to have no respect for him.

Take his recent series smearing progressives. It had no sense of time or place loosely grouping all progressives together regardless of actual connections because they were not "conservative" Like grouping Hitler and Mao together...neither of whom had anything to do what we would recognize as progressive/liberals in this country.

Airing such nonsense and promoting it as historically accurate does this nation no good especially when there are far more people who have no actual understanding of history, culture or politics in their country much less outside of it than those who do.

I read too many replies from people who obviously have not watched the speech.

Was it dramatic? yes
did is bash both parties? yes

did he say things I didn't agree with? yes

But was it a speech that essentially tried to point our that the government has gotten too big for it's pants? yes

Did it try bring focus to the freedoms we are losing? yes

No matter your view of him, the speech was better than most, less biased than normal and geared towards a healthy community based future via steering away from ultra large government.

Be glad of it. Add to it.. stop tearing it down so much that the essence of a simple keynote speech is destroyed by jaded views and self important values.
Of course that won't happen though...

Generally I warn people away from Beck, but this speech was worthy.

edited for a "WHAT THE HECK" someone above me knows what a good avatar is all about!

So much hate on this board. So much hate for others opinions. So much hate for free speech.

As far as this speech goes, I enjoyed it. Anyone that says they disagreed with most or all of it is simply in the wrong country (If you live in the U.S.)

I stopped watching the video when I realized he was using Radio Head's music. G.Beck is the polar opposite to which everything Radio Head stands for.

Beck tells you things you already know, he says things many want to hear mixed with sensational paranoia, fear-mongering, distortions, lies and all of the needed elements to build an audience. At the end of the day he is selling himself and products he endorses.. That is ultimately all he and his talented staff want to accomplish... Capitalism it is finest, entertainment at its worst, exploitation of people's anger, frustrations with government, fears and paranoia are highly profitable in these times.

He is the pimp and the whore.

When or if the republicans/conservatives are in majority control of government he will eventually have an amazing new awakening and go in a new direction with bag of tricks and his writers are able to make it happen.

Maybe he can then return to CNN?

The speach sukked , just like Glenn Beck. Beck sukks because he reminds me of someone from my real life that I have distaste for. I stereotyped Mr. Beck based on physical appearance nothing more. I think if he would have looked like Seargent Slaughter or something while saying the exact samre things, I would have listned closer and with more of an open mind.

So is this a backward apology to Mr. Beck for my previous bashing?.. I suppose it is. Its not your fault you remind me of a real life a%%ho&^., and I was too busy to really sit down and disect what you have top say before spouting off some el crappo. But thats what us uninformed dupees do. Be duped.

Good speech. Really, it is, BUT:

He claims we have the right to fail, yet he supported the bailouts.

He claims to be a fiscal conservative, yet he's for a value added tax.

He claims to support the rights of the individual, yet he supported the PATRIOT Act (at least when a "conservative" was in office).

He claims to be pro Constitution, yet he puts Medina in with the 'enemies of the state'.

He has Ron Paul on his show then calls him a nut.

He says 'truthers' & their ilk might try to kill Obama.

I have to agree with our friend AJ, he's a Benedict Arnold. He's with us 95% of the time, but when it counts, he stabs us in the back.

He's a shill.

I really enjoyed how he tied the beginning and the end of his speech with the theme of "Morning in America". The morning we are still in is the "hangover" morning but the day is just getting started. It's gonna be a rough day thanks to the idiotic things we did the night before. At the end he mentions that after a rough day we can lay in our beds and put our heads on our pillows, fall asleep and know that tomorrow it will once again be "Morning in America". A new morning for sure and hopefully a better morning.

Why can't everyone comment on the speech at hand?
