South Carolina Lawmaker Seeks to Ban Federal Currency

www.cbsnews.com

South Carolina Rep. Mike Pitts has introduced legislation that would mandate that gold and silver coins replace federal currency as legal tender in his state.
.........................
In an interview, Pitts told Hotsheet that he believes that "if the federal government continues to spend money at the rate it's spending money, and if it continues to print money at the rate it's printing money, our economic system is going to collapse."

I didn't see this topic posted yet, sorry if I missed it, my appologies.
.
This is something big.
We have heard of towns recently printing there own currency, but a whole state?
In my opinion, this is tantamount to secession. It may actually be as close to secession as will happen. What would happen if many states followed suit? What effect will it have on the country?

This is a good first step. I hope if anything it adds fuel to the fire. There is no reason a state shouldn't be able to enforce the constitution.

The Palmetto Scoop

Bill would ban federal currency in SC

Pitts, a fourth-term Republican from Laurens, introduced legislation earlier this month that would ban what he calls “the unconstitutional substitution of Federal Reserve Notes for silver and gold coin” in South Carolina.
WOW!!!!
Here he is calling out the FED calling it UNCONSTITUTIONAL!

I thought Texas would be first with that!
Is he stealing Ron Paul's thunder?
