Forces 'unprepared' for new tasks

news.bbc.co.uk

Campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan have left UK armed forces ill-prepared to take on any new tasks, MPs have warned.

The Commons Defence Committee said that British forces needed a period of "effective recuperation" as a result.

It added it was "unsatisfactory" that the ability to carry out tasks not connected with current operations overseas had fallen to such an extent.

Wow what timing ?

Its all getting real very fast isn't it ?

mostly a mundane article about being stretched to thin needing more resources.

But the first paragraph says all....

its 2am in the U.K and this just hit ..

Campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan have left UK armed forces ill-prepared to take on any new tasks, MPs have warned.

This is a message to whatever is going down , and we know its is, the crunch time has come the world has 2 choices , let Iran have a nuclear weapon , or take them out.

The timing and wording of this article i believe is a message from the U.K we will not be getting involved in any 'NEW' tasks...

now what new task would that be?

may you and your children be safe in these troubled times..

A similar thing was mentioned in the papers a few days ago.

(I can't remember which one , i read it on the bus - possibly the daily mail?)

Anyhoo the column mentioned something about Argentina raising some concerns about the Falklands and how the Uk would be 'ill prepared' to defend them considering how over stretched we are with Afghan / Iraq.
