Democrats Stepping Down (and Republicans, Too)

www.nytimes.com

The situation is similar for the other seats being vacated by Blue Dogs — in Kansas, Louisiana and a second Tennessee district — not to mention for districts in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington that are losing incumbents.

And that is a problem for Democrats as they confront a series of departures, with the possibility of more to come. Defending open seats is a much more difficult proposition than helping even embattled incumbents hold on. Open seats typically provide the best chance for a takeover since the power of incumbency is eliminated.

On the heals of breaking news showing that democrats have the needed votes to ram through health care reform, and with other pending legislation waiting to be passed, perhaps some of these departures are more indicative of an anticipated voter backlash in 2010?

Maybe it is a great time to plan on retirement?

Get out while you can, and persue other career opportunities with special interests and lobbyists you have aided with your work in government policy and lawmaking?

Maybe, just maybe, they know the party is over and they have gotten all they can and/or need to in order to secure their lives outside of Washington.

Will they pause on the way out to thank the American taxpayers who have and will fund all of their agendas and exploits?

So long, thanks for all the fish.

To walk away now is going to be far easier than facing an angry American populous when a majority finally wake up to see the crimes against them that you all have perpetrated on them.

Let the next guys and gals deal with the aftermath of your work.

COWARDS... One and all.

I wish them all the best in their retirement.

Actually, I don't have to, they are all multimillionaires, with a great government benefits package to take with them.

None of them will ever have to suffer at all from any of the legislation they have forced on us.

Crime does pay... quite well apparently!

Reminds me of rats fleeing a sinking ship.

I honestly think is some of those backroom meetings that they have with Security officials the security officials have probably told them straight up, if there was mass civil unrest that spawned into bullets flying there is nothing the military can do about it in fact they would probably see 3/4 of their forces join in on the spiraling chaos.

Some of them are probably saying it doesn't matter we make the laws, and other are probably like it doesn't matter what is written on a piece of paper it isn't going to save you. Plus I'm sure same are disenfranchised with the current state of the parties and choosing retirement rather than defecting.

If it wasn't for the biased news media on all of the major broadcast networks and the majority of cable networks along with so many people who are oblivious to what has actually been happening the crisis and chaos would have already been happening.

If they lose their control over the leftist news media then TSHTF!

Then, perhaps an early exit from office would be a more prudent move, in fact an immediate exit with retirement in another country would be a wise move for a lot of these "lawmakers"

I hereby submit House Resolution 1313 for debate and passage. This bill will prohibit the influence and impact of Karma on all exiting representatives, and will provide insurance against any financial loss and/or legal expenses that could result from any act of God, the American people and/or any form of "Karma".

Just how is socialism? I have visited the Scandinavian countries and Sweden; they are essentially socialist. They enjoy a higher standard of living than the US and the women are all blond and very friendly.
It was fun actually.

And who cares if the Congress and house flip. Do you think anything will actually change? Big business pulls the strings. We mean nothing. Taxes
won't go down, the wars will continue, and so will the corruption.

I suppose you will feel better because perhaps some GOPs will be voted into office. BFD!! God, it must suck to be so wrapped up in Rush, Sean, Savage and Beck to actually think that your problems will be solved by their solutions. They're entertainers! selling metmucil , viagra, and depends along with a facetious conservative mindset.

Don't let your ideology get in the way of your common sense.

He makes his livin off of the peoples taxes

Nancy Pelosi, whoa, whoa, she slipped away
Harry Reid caught up to her the very next day
They got the money, hey

They headed down south and they're still running today

Singin go on take the money and run

Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

Sure they are all scum and crooks. But I rather have conservative scums and crooks instead of the Pelosi/Reed/Barney gang of thiefs.

Come on now, it is hardly fair to judge an American by the scum they choose.

Maybe the scum on the right is actually better the scum on the left.

Just a few little things to get out of the way before taking that early retirement...

www.msnbc.msn.com...

WASHINGTON - Senate Democrats pushed Sunday toward a critical vote to advance historic health care reform legislation as outnumbered Republicans pledged a fight to the end against President Barack Obama's top domestic policy priority.

Top domestic priority eh?

Why not jobs and the economy?

Why are they working on nights, weekends and Sundays to push through spending bills and reforms?

Why are they pushing to pass this latest version of health care reform before taking a break before the holidays, when most of the laws created by this bill will not be implemented for four years?

If it is the top priority, and must be passed before Christmas, why wait for FOUR YEARS to implement it?

Could it be that they all need time to make a safe exit before TSHTF?

Up next... energy reform, hold out your wallets and hold your breath, before you exhale you will need to pay for the carbon you blow out!

How much longer do you think they will be able to play this 'game' before their house of cards comes tumbling down..?...

Once 'Genie' is out of the bottle....there's no putting it back in..

They will be a safe distance away when that house of cards tumbles down.

So far their most destructive legislation has a clock attached... as I pointed out above.. Their health care reform bill, WHEN passed will not be implemented for FOUR YEARS.

Cap and Trade also has a similar time clock, when passed.

Some of the most expensive deficit spending amendments attached to other legislation already passed... yep you guessed it, will not kick in for at least four years, and some as far off as 10 years.

Think about that!

If you light the fuse on a bomb, you need to make sure the fuse burns for long enough to allow you to get to a safe distance before it explodes.

Hmmm...Do I prefer the scum under the kitchen sink or the scum under the refrigerator? Actually, I'd prefer to get a better detergent & get rid of all the scum. Maybe then the House (& the Senate) would smell better. While I'm at it, why not clean the den (POTUS) & the bathroom (SCOTUS) too...I'm not too fond of that $#|++Y smell either.

Well, the "game" started even before Lincoln's time in Office...When the industrialists & bankers started seeing their profits leaving the Union...

I'm almost finished writing up H.R. 1313 and planning on sending the draft version to my elected rep.

They are going to need all the protection they can get.

Does that answer your question?

Run to the hills, while you all still can.

A storm is brewing, and this time man-made global warming is not responsible.
