Ok, I know I sometimes tend to see more than what meets the eye. But this might be just my own paranoia.

Any way, there are 3 scenes in which Wisconsin is mentioned in the movie.

1. In the beginning when the first crack emerges some lady yells to her husband: "I told you we should've moved to Wisconsin."

2. When the poles are shifting and the "bad guy" says: "So, the North Pole is now in Wisconsin?" scientist answers "That's the South Pole..."

3. At the end when the president's daughter is reading John Cusack's book something Atlantis: "... We all know we all have family in Wisconsin."

Ok, what the hell are they trying to tell us? What's with Wisconsin? Is there something that I'm missing out here?

Any way, just a thought I would like to throw out there and see who's listening...

Didn't John Titor say that in the future the White houuse was relocated to Wisconsin?

Kinda weird eh?

What is the elevation there?

Maybe 2012 was subtly sponsored by the American Dairy Council?

I would put that credit more into the screen writers fantasy, and properly they got inspired by a John Titor thread somewhere around the internet.

Best regards

Loke.:.

well it sounds like it is pretty clear there is some correlation between the subtle remarks. although you must keep in mind that when making a movie based on a "conspiracy theory" it would only seem fitting roll with that pretense throughout. the 2012 conspiracy also has a sub facet of the government knowing, possibly preparing for their safety, but choosing not to tell the world and paving the way for the NWO. NWO controls the media, and pop culture like power tools to mold public thought, opinion, and action. So it is possible there may be some subliminal messages in.

it is keen you are aware to the conspiracy of the conspiracy,

It's probably an inside joke having something to do with something like the writer growing up in Wisconsin or the boom operator eats too much cheese or something. Don't read too much into it. Movie makers put all kinds of references to other things in their movies for sheets and geegles.

Having lived in Wisconsin since I was 7 and still living in Madison the first thing that pops into my head is this.

In June of 2006 Wisconsin passed has the Film Wisconsin bill which gives substantial tax credits to companies that film in wisconsin in an effort to attract work and tourism into the local economy. A large part of movie budget goes straight into the on location economy.

Public Enemies with Johnny Depp is probably the best known big budget Hollywood film to shoot in Wisconsin for multiple scenes. I personally remember them filming right here in downtown Madison and they filmed a courtroom shootout scene in the state capitol, complete with the closing of capitol square, filling the capitol itself with smoke, and parking old time cars all around the filming area.

Word of these huge tax incentives has made it's way around the big Hollywood productions and increasingly more big budget productions are scouting Wisconsin for any scenes suited to the area. My first guess would be that this is either a conscious or sub-conscious nod to Wisconsins newly elevated status in the minds of producers.

That being said I was unaware of John Titors assertations for the future, and I have a fully open mind, but at this point I think it's more of a coincidence than a conspiracy.

Did any of you notice that they mentioned Hapgood's displacement of earth crust theory from 1958?

www.crystalinks.com...

I looked it up and apparently he thought that Wisconsin became warm the last time the poles shifted so I guess the movie people just put Wisconsin back in the cold spot.

You have to scroll down to the chart to notice Wisconsin.

Wow my post got some attention this is pretty cool!

Well, I think the inside joke theory more plausible than anything. But I saw that documentary "Ring of Power" or some other video here in ATS that the NWO leaders or Illuminati always have to show what they're planning to do in any way before they do it. That's why it caught my senses. I'll try to find more info on what I found and maybe make some correlation.

I have IMDBPRO...so I checked.

Roland Emmerich comes form Stuttgart in Germany.
Harry Kloser comes from Austria

No connection to Wisconsin there.

Can you link this please?

The pyramids are as clear as day.

The 13 stars represent the original 13 states.

The state motto is "Forward" (7 letters)

2012 was three hours to long. Wisconsin is mostly cheese and porn stores (at least on the southern end). Don't read to much into it.

Hahaha! Way to funny combination of stores, I wonder if there's one that sells both products.

I can't find anything else regarding this Wisconsin reference in the movie. I'm just going to leave it at that.

Sure hope this doesn't become one of those thoughts that come back and haunt you. "I should of listened to myself and fled to Wisconsin!".

Everybody who lives in Wisconsin is a Boss, thats what their trying to tell you.

(I live in Wisconsin soooo xD)

I went to the movie on the first day with a bunch of friends, when Wisconsin became the South Pole we shouted "WE WIN!" and the entire theater was laughing. Great times.

Odd, you know Madison has the second largest capital building in the country. The original blueprints were actually for it to be bigger than the one in DC. I wouldn't bet on it though.

If might have been some sort of literary term, say the movie was a play or a piece of artwork the way every scene is shot everything in the backround. A lot of people probably worked very hard for years on the whole movie throwing around ideas. Just a thought w-i-s-con-sin?? I dont know if you can rearrange words or anagram, maybe it was a symbol or picture that fit into the movie or random?? At the end I think the north pole was Dragonsburgh, Africa???

I missed it I saw it once I thought it was the north pole, and I didnt see it when they were reading his book. I dont know if their are other hidden words in it or something that is there in real life that might have made sense, if they wanted to intentionally put it there.
