Montana Town Occupied By Private Paramilitary Security Force

www.prisonplanet.com

A private security force whose biggest role is helping the U.S. government to “combat terrorism” is now patrolling the streets of a town in Montana, acting as law enforcement but accountable to nobody and operating completely outside the limitations of the U.S. constitution in a chilling throwback to the brownshirts of Nazi Germany.

The American Police Force organization is a paramilitary unit that “provides surveillance, investigative, and military services across the world,” according to its website, which shows men dressed in military fatigues carrying machine guns

Eye witness testimony reveals that this town of Harding has been taken over by this private paramilitary police force! This is not constitutional, they eye witness testimony describes checkpoints and flu propaganda!

Also, today, one of the main streets in Hardin was completely blocked off and they have been setting up information booths where they are passing out pamphlets with information on this new H1N1 shot.

Last night, the city council voted to disband our sheriff’s department and to bring in a private security company to police the town.

Interestingly, earlier in the day, the mayor when asked in an interview about the privatization of our police department completely denied it and said that would not be done with out a council meeting. Then that evening, a council meeting was held in regards to that very thing. At the beginning of this month, our local prison signed an agreement with the American Police Force which is a subsidiary of a larger private security force that the U.S. used in the Iraq war and Hurricane Katrina.

Yesterday, a convoy of twelve 'blacked out' Mercedes Benz SUV’s were brought into town. They were already painted with Hardin’s colors and ‘Hardin Police Force’ was already painted on them! Hardin’s sheriff’s department will no longer be in operation after the month of October. During October, the Sheriff’s Department is to train this new security force in all the logistics of running the town of Hardin. If you go on the American Police Force site, you might notice that the logo they use is actually a Russian logo. I have been told that the man who came with this new security force as the captain, has a thick Russian accent.

Earlier this month, in an interview in regards to this Hardin prison and the training center that they are planning to build, we were told that seventy five percent of the security officers that were to be trained would be ‘international’.

What's with the religious psycho-babble on the source you've cited?

Also, what specifically are these guys doing that's related to the H1N1? Have they brought out any needles, yet?

Be sure to keep us updated, this is definitely a huge story that can/will affect us all.

It's just Capitalism in action. See, no more socialist, government run police anymore. This should make opponents of national health care happy, since they believe the government is too incompetent to run anything.

It is not babble if you love the person or topic you are reporting on. Steve Quayle is a follower of Jesus Christ and strongly believes people need to rekindle their relationship with the lord. The guy loves the Lord and is grateful for all he has given us. We are blessed!

So the Mayor and City Council chose to disband the local Sheriff's Department and outsource the Sheriff's Department's civic duties to a private corporation?

It doesn't sound like the city is occupied.

Nor does it sound like this is unconstitutional.

Nor does it sound like they are unaccountable to anyone. They are in the hire of the City and answer to the Mayor and City Council just as the Sheriff's Department did.

Reading between the lines here it sounds to me that either there was some kind of scandal with the Sheriff's Department and the Municipality of Hardin disbanded them, or the Municipality of Hardin is attempting to cut costs by using a private corporation to manage those services to the city instead.

My County did the same thing with our Public Libraries. Independently run by the County it was costing too much. A private contractor gave a bid that was a third of the cost of running the Public Libraries on their own, so they outsourced those services rather than cut services altogether.

It sounds like Big Horn County may just be cutting costs by outsourcing rather than cutting services. As they are also considering taking in Guantanamo prisoners at the Two Rivers Correctional Facility, it may be that they were required to boost the qualifications and number of personnel required, which would have been too costly to do with their traditional Sheriff's Department (which in most counties has jurisdiction over maintaining Prisons). They certainly wouldn't be the first County in the United States to outsource their Prison Maintenance to a private contractor.

Although I'm not sure if I would be entirely comfortable with a Private Contractor running as a Sheriff either. However, it's not as nefarious as it is being made out to be. They are still accountable to the County, in addition to their Stockholders if they are a Publicly Traded Corporation. It might not be the wisest of choices for a County to make, but it is an economically sound one when faced with budget cuts and restrictions during tough economic times.

It is not constitutional! The scariest thing about this is the fact that citizens from other countries will be in this police force.

Since when is this legal even?

Where in the U.S. Constitution does it state how Municipal and County Law Enforcement are to be run? Matter of fact, there is nothing in the U.S. Constitution that states Municipalities and Counties have to have Law Enforcement to begin with!

Such things are oftentimes listed in the Charter of that Municipality and County, but otherwise how they are managed, run or such falls under the purview of local Sovereignty.

Of course, no local Law Enforcement, whether Privately Contracted, voted into Office, or appointed by the local governing body, can violate your First and Fourth Amendment Rights, or any other Right granted by the U.S. Constitution. However, there is nothing in the Constitution that says local Law Enforcement has to be comprised of locals and cannot be a private contractor.

Well, although that would be my first personal preference too, but since they do have a Prison, who is going to run that if you get rid of law enforcement whether it was publicly or privately run?

And what do you do when everyone is the Law Enforcement? Who are they accountable to? Of course they answer to themselves, but there would have to be some kind of accountability to the City or County too.

Likewise, not everyone is capable of defending themselves. When the Law of the Strong rules the land, the weak, defenseless, elderly, children become the victims. Even when you are strong enough to defend yourself there is always going to be someone stronger or better armed or with greater numbers than you.

As much as people may not like it, myself included, Law Enforcement is far better than the Cowboy Way. The trick is keeping Law Enforcement on a short enough leash to keep them honest and working in the Public Trust for the City or County that they serve.

And that I believe is the crux of what this entire issue is about...how do you keep a Private Contractor on a short enough leash to keep them honest and working in the Public Trust for the City or County that they serve rather than in their Corporate interests?

I would assume that the County had signed a Contract with them...which puts restrictions on both sides, but gives the County little recourse if ever they were to decide to terminate their Contract if they found that it was no longer in the County's better interests...and that would indeed be something to worry about.

As it sounds that this decision was made in haste, rather than with forethought, the County of Big Horn may find themselves with a bum deal that gives them little recourse in a Court of Law. Hopefully the County had good lawyers go over the Contract with a fine toothed comb.

Did anyone even research this?

APF was contracted to provide security for the PRIVATE JAIL in Hardin, MT.

If anyone remembers this was the remote town with the private prison that wanted to get the Gitmo Prisoners to bring economic stimulus to the community.

Pull your heads out. Just because Alex Jones screams it don't mean it's true.

Oooh, Private Jail.

A sadomasochistic dream from Hell come true.

Wouldn't you like to work there? Or have a neighbor that does?

Or- if you're a real masochistic boytoy, be locked up there.

Sounds like a Swedish porn title.

The day you empower another human to enslave others, you doom yourself to live without Liberty.

The entire idea makes me fighting mad.

Yeah. You missed the point of the thread. The Hardin Jail was background info. This is about them policing a city.
