Hi **EVERYONE**,

First off there is no shame in reaching out; anyone who thinks there is in receiving, or in giving; I don't have any use for You. Now, that being said this is something I've been wanting to present here on ATS. It's such a touchy subject, or is it possibly a subject that effects Peoples pride?....Pride has always been a real bummer in many Peoples lives, and caused a lot of Heartache. So wake up, and do what's necessary.

There are many solutions Anyone can do should they find themselves stuck between a rock, and a hard place. I was doing some searching on the Web, and stumbled across Chastityrose.com. At first I was excited as a boy who thought it might be my new porn connection
, but alas it was better. I found a beautiful soul who is out on the Web giving great advice to strangers. She points out, through a step by step processes how to assess Your situation, and steps to be taken immediately. Everything she recommends is available in Your local community. You don't even have to associate with Govt. to get it!

Enjoy the read, and links. A quick word of advice. In Your local communities there are Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, Kuwanis, Churches, Community centers, Chamber of Commerce, and others who either are directly involved with outreach, or can point You in the right direction locally.

This is a very good 1 through 18 steps You can take immediately in order to take charge of Your situation. Disclaimer:****The only thing I warn of before hand, is some of her steps are having faith in the Bible.**** I had a big problem with reading that, but it is simple. The ideas are SOLID; so simply replace with Your slavery religion, or Your spirituality......It's that easy problem solved

www.chastityrose.com...

The link below is to chastity rose regarding earning money from Your home computer. I only put this information because in another part of her site she lists off many, many scams; of which these are not. A little over my head, but that's why I have the next list to pick from. Each item is shortened here; click the link for full idea listed.

www.chastityrose.com...

1. Joining programs - MLM
2. Selling Other People's ebooks/digital products/tools with resale rights.
3. Writing your own digital products.
4. Creating a website, selling products, services or web space.
5. Affiliate sales

Hey, now this list is a little more my style; of course, I make my living as an underwear model
, but the list is a great place to start when in need of money; which earns us food, clothing, and shelter.
Each item is shortened here; go click link for full idea listed.

www.chastityrose.com...

1. Car washing(door to door)
2. Service jobs around the house
3. Sit with the elderly or a handicapped person.
4. Run a shopping service in your neighborhood
5. Special cleaning jobs.
6. Gardening, landscaping, indoor herb gardens, creating decorative ponds
7. Bake sale.
8. Party planner.
9. Tutoring.
10. Computer skills.
11. You can also offer to take people's photographs and scan them onto discs or make internet files of their family albums that they can share with email friends.
12. Storyteller. Memorize a few stories or write your own, hire out to day care centers and organizations, even nursing homes
13. Write stories or articles for your local newspaper. You could expect to earn about 10 cents per word on an article.
14. If you live in the south or near a company that shells and buys nuts (pecans etc.) you can contact them to shell out the nutmeats from cracked nuts.
15. Painting street numbers on curbs in cities.
16. Sell advertising to local businesses.
17. Candy boxes and donation boxes set out on counters where a store will allow you to leave one.

Also, three larger places I could think of to turn to quickly if needed. I'm really not sure about the United Way, but they listed off foodbanks in different areas. The Catholic charities are a no brainer; as most Catholic Churches run "community kitchens" designed to feed the poor, and bring communities together. I have been to several as being the cheap bastard that I am, and the warm welcome feeling is great! They do absolutely 0% of religious conversion junk on You, or at least me

Last is the Feeding America Charity, I have heard excellent things about them, and their food bank search is right on the front page; extremely easy to find, and navigate.

liveunited.org... United Way; simply log on to their site, and enter Your zip code. They will direct You to the local affiliate.

cf.catholiccharitiesusa.org... Catholic Charities; I am simply putting this link because their site is HUGE.

feedingamerica.org... Feeding America's home page. Another huge site; easily navigated with food banks search on the front page.

Wake Up, Stand Up,

Sancho

Great thread.

It is so hard for people to ask for help sometimes, but the way this world is heading, we should try to look beyond our pride and ask.

People are ashamed knowing that they are broke, but we should be encouraging each other with information like this.

Thanks for sharing...

Well, I just applied for food stamps and medicaid today. Don't like it but with needing surgery again and all, I kind of need it.

If someone is reading this thinks he/she might qualify for food stamps, don't feel bad about applying for the help.

Thank You, and Your welcome. again, I like Your new avatar.. Yes, I wanted to get this out there in order for People to start breaking down their pride issues. It seems to me pride, and ego are what got us into this mess, and the only way we'll get out of it is by changing. I hope some of this information does help

Hi, I don't have a problem with anyone in need reaching out for help. I'd check out chastityrose.com She's got some great tips in there, and they'd help anyone on a small budget.

Thank you very much, several people I know could really use this, including myself. This last month has personally been the hardest ever on me financially, but I look at it as good practice for the future.

The exact thing You just wrote is one of the main reasons I have been wanting to post a thread like this. Many People just don't believe something along the lines of desperation, or necessity could fall upon them.

There is a rising tide of suicide in the World right now, and I am of the opinion that many of these People just didn't know of the potential helping hand that was so close.

It's a matter of defeating pride, and just doing what's necessary.

Those are some great ideas, S & F for you!

Some things though like washing cars for others it seems like people would rather do it themselves than pay to have someone do it for them( or so it seems in my town, the only people that let you mow their lawns are the old people which there a very few of).

Of course I could be wrong, me being a pretty lazy guy when it comes to jobs around the house. I will however keep this website in mind for next summer if I can't find any jobs around town. Plus it's always nice to help someone even if it's the little things in life!

AWESOME thread OP.
just this weekend i had a gentleman come up to me on haight st. and ask me if i knew anyone that had connections to a car wash or manual labour that could use his assistance.
i was heart broken that i couldn't offer any referrals... but i shook his hand and bode him good fortune as we are all in the same boat.

i myself have just ran out of work (as a designer), but through incredible coincidence have landed a "gig" that has a permanent position option... i'm very grateful to be working right now. (and i'm not a cute 21 year old. -- i'm a cute 43 year old... hahaha)

Sancho, it was very thoughtful of you to post this thread. People like you make this world a better place. I forwarded the link on to some friends and family who are having rough times.

Way to cast your bread on the water, man. You will never know who you've help, but I'm sure your efforts are helping those in dire straights.

Star and Flagged with appreciation and respect.

Hey, there's a whole bunch We all can do to help each other. The World really can be a different kind of place; a better kind of place.

Very good ideas! Ya' gotta be careful of the electrical stuff. I used to own an Electrical Service Co., and "sparky's"aka electricians were always getting themselves shocked, and they are supposed to be the professionals.
Hey, should You be able to do it; I couldn't blame anyone from taking from a bank owned property, as We all paid for it.

Thank You, I would recommend going in, and reading the full descriptions of what she suggests. They all seemed solid. Like the ole' folk sitting. Imagine only charging 4, or 5 bucks an hour to have them tag along with You on Your errands.... The ideas are good enough to expand on

Thank you for this topic.
When some one in front of the 7-11 asks me for money I usually have to say no these days but if you don't ask the one one that god has blessed will not know.

During the great (relatively) depression the outgoing sales people of Chicago created a demand for "salesman cars" which featured a fold down rear seat back so you could stick your feet in the trunk to get some sleep.

Real needs, real people, It's good to be refreshed by facts once in a while.
