calling this martial law is ludicrous. they've asked for help. this happens all the time.

oh...and if gun violence was out of control in my town i'd be glad the mayor did this.

While I appreciate your seemingly level headed reply, I beg you re read the precvious posts, and tell me where I have said the actual martial law has actually been declared.

I'll help you out: I didn't. I merely reported the FACTS as they were made available to me. In summation: The Harrisburg NAACP has urged that martial law be declared in the city.

Martial law (as yet) has not been declared in Harrisburg, but the PSP police "augmentation" continues.

I can live with a few extra state troopers on regular patrol, if that makes people feel safer.

It DOES, however, bring to mind that old saw Ben Franklin was fond of... Something about people giving up liberty for a bit of temporary security deserving neither...

Ever heard that one?
