It's said to be about 4 to 6 miles underwater in the deepest trench of the ocean.... So to answer your question, "No"....

however, I was referring to the satellite imagery of the bit that's, you know, on the ground.

If you had the technology to build anywhere in the universe would terraform another planet, build in the sky, or build underwater?

I would build underwater, less chances of natural disaster, no worries about tsunamis and hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.

Terraforming another planet is taking yourself out of your natural habitat and not good for moral. It is a lot of work to repopulate and build a complex civilized society from the ground up, and also you face the unknown of new bacteria and diseases.

Which means that we are not the first complex intelligent inhabitants of this planet, and a whole other host of questions and things to ponder upon.

I would agree totaly with the best place being under water... What I was stressing is the fact that they are traveling through other dimentions and time.... We can't really fathom what that experience would be like as averave "joes"... I'm not saying I wouldn't want to know, but in my ordinary life of going to work, the store, church, and playing softball on mondays...... doesn't really compute easily...

Well, I can look up "groom lake" with google earth and see area 51... You may be able to see AUTEC also...

I think we need to raise the awareness of AUTEC for sure. Especially with there being so many USO sightings.
It was also proposed in 1958, just a few years after Area 51 began to be used for top secret testing.
"Ok, we've tested this thing in the air. Lets see how she goes underwater"

Also right next to Bermuda triangle? I don't believe in coincidences.

Think of it like teleporting, as far as extra dimensional travel goes. Think of it as a complex way to go "through" objects, or get to a destination very quick.

Time travel would be pretty wicked though. I wouldn't want to time travel. It would make life to easy.

I've had odd experiences in my life though, I could tell you stories and you would say I was a liar and just making stuff up.

My point is you make it sound like it's normal.... I guess I just have excited feelings about it... The though of it stresses me out because it's just not normal to my life, but I would LOVE to check that technology out...

As far as the story, start a thread on it or something and I will post what I think there... I have a few stories myself that I will be doing the same with here soon that I haven't been able to explain my whole life...

I definatly thought about the Bermuda triangle deal myself... It does put a new twist on it, doesn't it? Suddenly, it may not be some weird "black hole" of the earth that people have thought for many decades... This place DEFINATLY needs ALOT more attention than it has gotten lately... I think that is probably one of the biggest "HOT SPOTS" on this earth...

If they are doing some experiments down there that could be affecting ships on the surface and planes in the air then its a possibility.

I heard they were playing around with electromagnetic radiation or something similar.

Tapping into the earths natural laylines maybe?

I like the idea of Atlantis being there too.

Anyway you could sum up what it is or how they plan to use it?

If that is a communication cable to the main base, and given the secrecy surrounding the site, I doubt that "they" would just have a cable, completely visible and vulnerable to tapping etc. linking the bases.
Our intrepid explorers were able to swim right up to the thing and could have severed it or listened in to what may be flowing through it.
At best, it was either something left over from the original construction several decades ago or just something to throw people off.
Don't look behind the curtain.

I did mention that point, about it being there from when the place was first being built and now it not being used... I'm wouldn't really doubt it that it's there to throw people off. It's not like the government is very streight foward with the discussions of aliens and their technology...

AUTEC is one of the most 'interesting' cases, not just for its location. I started researching AUTEC a few months ago on the 'Atlantis in Cuba'. As I started digging, I discovered that underwater structures where found off Andros island in the 70's (74 I think), AUTEC was created in the late 50's I think.

One of it's mission objectives is to map the OCean floor around that area, that to me was quite interesting, it also develops underwater exploration technologies, aswell as warfare.

The tongue of the ocean is one of the best, if not THE best place in our entire planet to test without being seen, doesn't matter what it is, be it alien technology or advanced submarine development, there is alot more to AUTEC that is let on, IMO.
