Apologies if this has been posted before, I did run a search but came up nada.

Check out this "meteorite" turning a 180 towards the middle of this footage.

This one has me baffled tbh... the motion capture is reliable enough to say that the object is certainly there and was not added in afterward...

What do you guys think?

There's been a previous thread about this. A clearer video was posted in that thread, showing this is one of those parachute displays where fireworks are trailed through the air.

That is really odd.
Technically, if that is a meteor, thats impossible.
Unless something went past it, with a great force that we didn't see, that changed its direction.
I have no idea

It's clearly not man made, and is quite clearly an asteroid breaking apart on entry.

The only thing I can suggest, is that energy takes the path of least resistance, it could have hit an air pocket or some kind of turbulence that caused it to veer like that.

Thanks for the link...

I had considered it could be an RC aeroplane, helicopter or similar - is this 100% what it is? It appears to be one hell of a weighty pyrotechnic, big chunks of sparks and what looks like debris falling... are we positive a RC vehicle could carry that kind of load and wouldn't be affected by the heat?

Your are welcome. The posters on that thread showed it be a parachute display. The parachutists hang the fireworks underneath them as they descend & manouvre around.

I can see why you would see it is a parachute display but it seems like a stupid place to be doing that in the dark doesent it?

Your probably right though.

Ive seen a meteorite bout 10 years ago do a 180....my mother was with me at the time, thou it wasnt for as long as the one in the video.

it was shooting down from a 2'o'clock position headint to a 7'o'clock position when it instanctly seemed to bounce up towards the 11 o'oclock posittion.

I immediately said to her, mum, you know that wasnt no meteor.

happened withing 2 seconds. right in front of us whilst we were driving.

the one in the video is wierd as it occuring horizontally.

Thank's. That looks about right!

Only actors and schizophrenics need more characters to tell you the above.
