Don't do much TV but I came across this via MSM tip off...

WOW

2:20 -4:40

This guy has lost it -

"Get em out of College --- Burn the BOOKS!"

I don't believe some of this tea bagger activity...
Where was all this rage from 00 -08????

I think it has been highjacked -

And

I severely question the legitimacy of the apparent origin of this rage

sorry

I know this doesn't represent ALL of you who are protesting - BUT I hear the same rhetoric here on ATS and on FOX...

You guys get whipped up pretty good with the old patriotic talk - JUST like IRAQ.

TERRORIST LOVER
UNAMERICANS
SOCIALISMS
BURN THE BOOKS...

What exactly are tea-baggers protesting? (an odd thing to name a group of people tea-baggers) It can not be higher taxes..as those breaks are being passed out right now. Are they protesting higher education...from the video it seems so. And where were these folks during the Bush days?

ALL great questions if you ask me...

Allegedly the goal is to STOP government spending and end or lower taxes...

Burn Books?

The reason they did not protest when BUSH was in was because they were eating the FOX Propaganda -- what is also motivating this, I believe.

Methinks it's not 2009 but 1933 again. They're protesting that there isn't enough evil being done for their likes. Demons.

Sounds like that one guy just had an awaking where he asked the woman if she was really serious about buring all those nasty evolution books. I guess they'd better start hiring foreigners to handle all the stuff their offsping won't be able to do like make beer and keep the electrical grid running, et al.

I wonder if any of these folks that want to end taxes are ready to give up the socialist programs like medicare, social security, free education for their kids or maybe the greatest standing army in all of history.

Just as I thought...they protest higher education.

I think they would get rid of the social programs above... EXCEPT the military of corse.

Then you wonder about fire, police, water, power and traffic signals?

"Burn the Books"

"the ones that teach evolutions"

Me: "You mean the ones you don't like lady"

That's the thing with taking the dark side. You miss that what is good for others is good for you too. If you know this and still do it, then that is self destructive. That's where it takes you.

The situation is raising things to a pitch where they are being forced to come out of their shadows. Quite frankly, it's comforting. You know who the enemy is and what they're really about. They can't hide being codes and covers like "states rights" and "small government" when in many cases it means precisely the opposite.

And in that, maybe it's working on me as well.

I am amazed at the news today. Texas sovereignty and tea parties that in my opinion know not what they really stand for. It has crossed my mind that they silently protest the color of our president. Bush did so much more toward the ruination of our constitution and not one tea-party.

I don't know, I was tolerant up until today... These people has helped create this just as much - Their own ideology lobbied for the criminal principles that caused this "MELT DOWN"...

DON'T tax companies, companies create jobs, don't impose laws because the companies will take jobs else where...

SO we get criminal corporate take over/ corruption and then they are surprised?

HYPOCRISY!

My best word of advice is, don't fall for the temptation of becoming like the enemy. Never seek to oppress another. To say "no" to injustice is indeed proper. It is a time of tempting even the good people into abominable behavior. Stay alert.

They have my truest sympathy.

Like they have called me in the past -

I will call them foolish...

Yes.... what we see here is whats left over effect after 8years of ignorance among consevatives..... you know where you strip a party of its voters and its supporters you will always be left with the core hard extreme.

These individuals are now railing against the educational establishment of this great nation because they dont agree with it. They talk about the constitution as though they give a damn and yet they are verymuch willing to strip the wealth of knowledge and belief systems within this country while their at it. "brainwashed"? What the hell does this "marketing" man know about "brainwashing"? Fox news is brainwashing them to think anything else is "brainwashing".

Now they want to form their own party... which is remarkably similar to that of the republican party in anycase..... and then when that party wages imperialist wars for their cultural ways and falls to the ground, they will want to form another party of their own... and another party... because they themselves are the issue of the party, because its their isolationist ways that these political parties of theirs loose credibility.

The ignorance in this video is just astounding, that and the hypocrisy of it all.... "burn the books".... we tried their way over the last 8years and look where it lead the nation. I so glad this part of the nation has resulted to a fringe minority...

I saw this several days ago shortly after it came out, and to be complete honest, I have a hard time believing that the video taper and his female companion were serious. After watching her other videos and seeing her comments, I pick up that she seems to have a sort of black and sarcastically quirky sense of humor indicative of the Chan boards.

She's a troll.

Her comments about "Burn the Books" were just a semi-in-character, semi-derogatory comment towards the crowd. However, it's not really much condolence when you consider that the speaker was the one who encouraged the perpetuation of insular ignorance by pulling your kids out of collage, and when she screeched to "Burn the Books" - nobody chastised or her reeled back in shock. They proudly applauded and cheered.

As for the speaker, I doubt he was any kind of a plant by "the man". Really, I've seen plenty enough people here who equal or surpass him in irrationality and passion. He very well may have been utterly sincere. And honestly... aside from the visceral imagery, I really don't draw much of a distinction between actively destroying knowledge, attempting to restrict it's proliferation, and encouraging anti-intellectualism and irrationality. The active and deliberate poisoning of the well of knowledge people like him, pseudoscientists, and creationists spew in an attempt to sow confusion is perhaps one of the most dangerous and destructive acts one can engage in - not only for themselves and those close to them, but to society as a whole.

Perhaps they did buy all the tea in China?

And 'tea bagging'? Such a lurid image that brings to my mind.

Edit: Kill possible horribly-misinterpretable comment portion.
