Sorry if this has been suggested before but why not release a service for IMing all your ATS friends? Sending U2Us back and forth is a bit annoying and it's not very instant. Why not create a service for ATS members that is simular to AIM or MSN? I bet it would be a big hit here at ATS!

Just thought I should throw that out there.

Welcome to the beuty of ATS!
I disagree with you.
ATS is providing us with enough means.
You have all you need for your private communication with fellow members.
If you feel to get more personal with any members or making a lobby, there is no one to hold you from exchanging your msn or other details with others.
I am not an administrator or anything. Just a simple member, and this is my view.

Actually, if you go to the Member Center (MemCenter there at the top) there's a place you can enter your IM type stuff. The options look like this-

Site:
Aim:
ICQ:
Yahoo:
MSN:

The info will show up on your profile and interested parties can connect. Of course, it isn't an ATS function, but I'm not sure there would be an advantage for that.

Where is this? I've heard about it but could never find it.

I'm not keen on the idea of an in-built messaging service. People that keen on instant messaging will have other messaging software already installed anyway, so why give the site owners/developers/administrators potentially even more hassle in the creation and running of instant messaging too?

As has been pointed out, member profiles allow for information to be added regarding members' existing instant messaging profiles.

Personally, I don't want ATS to become a 'MyConspiracyBook' social networking site - although I think it's actually moving in that way. I think the message boards and the existing messaging is enough.

If people want to they will find a way.

Imagine the added complications that the administration of such a service would bring.

My MSN is there and if anyone wants to add me - feel free.

ATS gives plenty - there are some things that we need to do for ourselves.

Peace,

MGGG
