Overwhelming amount of German/Nazi History on American TV! Is it preperation, or a warning?

*Mods..unsure if this is where you want this...move if needed!

Many of my friends and I were talking today and after some good discussions I decided to ask the ATS crew what their thoughts were. As many of you know I am prior military, and current law enforcement...so blowing things out of proportion aren't my thing. I don't fall for BS and jump on the conspiracy train easily. But what was discussed today made me wonder a bit.

I like almost all of my friends (and many of you) like to watch the Military Channel, Discovery, TLC, History Channel, BIO, and other educational/documentary channels. These channels provide a lot of good information, and tell great stories about all sorts of events. So what about these channels is making me and others think?

Since November 2008 (election time) these channels have been running a TON of German history programs. In depth documentaries on German soldiers, training, mind control, drug use, units, missions, etc... They have also been airing MANY shows on Adolph Hitler and his rise/fall from power. His planning, his motivation, his plans and operations. Not to mention they are now on a huge kick about his bodyguards and the roles they played, including trying to and killing Hitler. Now, I agree...they have always aired German History shows but they almost ALWAYS were about WWII and the show focused more on how America battled them and how we took advantage and won the War. These days its ALL about Germany and the ideals of the German military, not even showing US undertones. Plus seeing/finding shows similar to the ones being aired now were MAYBE found once a month before. Now they are aired literally EVERY day, ALL day!

Due to this, our discussion led to the idea that these channels are either trying to show the American People the direction we MAY be heading. Or they are trying to warn us BEFORE we head in that direction. The timing of the shows being aired of course line up with the election of one Barack Obama. Am I saying he is the next Hitler...NO! BUT...I will say it is scary how many people have jumped BLINDLY onto the "change" bandwagon and seem to be willing to follow him any almost all/any of his ideas for "change"! Talking about this with my friends (almost all prior military) it leads to the thinking that your everyday people WILL follow blindly...and those of us who have been in the bush, to 3rd world countires, and understand the reality of the world FIRST HAND...it is scary to see all of this transpire at once.

Could this be nothing...sure could. Could this again be a warning...sure could. Could this be preperation...sure could.

So what does the ATS community think? Are these channels onto something? At the very least...it should be odd that here in good old America...our educational type channels are constantly running and showing the evil in ways that they NEVER have before.

It is all about a matter of personal opinion. Some will agree with you, and say that it is a preparation, while others will say that it is just fantasies and ordinary educationshows.

That said, you simply have to go after what YOU believe.

Are you certain of an increase in these programs? These channels (Discovery, National Geographic. History, BIO and the like) are about the only channels I watch. I haven't noticed an increase in programming related to Hitler, and I've been a viewer for several years. As far as I can tell, they are airing the same amount of programming related to Nazis, Hitler, the Third Reich, etc. as they always have--there's a reason the History Channel is nicknamed "the Hitler Channel". You can find an ample amount of complaints regarding the superfluous programming online, dating back years.

Maybe I just haven't been as observant as you and others who have noticed this.

I believe the increase in shows with these topics would more likely stem from that Valkerie (sp?) movie that came out recently. My guess is these channels would like to help people gather more information on a subject that was revived by that movie.

I've noticed this also, I haven't watched the shows but basically all day every day there are shows on the same history channel about Hitler just as OP described. The only name I can remember currently is the Hitler's bodyguard one but I know for a fact there are more because I was actually just watching one earlier.

I have noticed the same thing on regular TV. I have no cable, so I can't compare there. It was maybe a month or two ago that I stopped and thought, "Wow, why all the WWII/Hitler shows?" So, I have no statistics or anything, but I definitely gave it a thought.

As to the purpose, I'm not sure. How about that movie Valkyrie too, with Tom Cruise, about the attempted assassination on Hitler? Made me wonder even more. Then there is the bit that Codex Alimentarius, to become effective in December 2009, may have been started by Nazi war criminals years ago. I may have gotten that information from sites I don't trust, however; but if you connect the dots I think it pans out to be true. I had started looking up some of the names and IIRC, they connected that way.

What if it's not about Obama, and just about the NWO or something? I think the world situation is bigger than him. The worshipful attitude people tend to have towards him has always bothered me, as I see it as dangerous too if people don't question him as they would anyone else (or as they would a Republican). Still, I'm starting to feel hopeful (*cringe*), and not because they told me to feel that way. I mean, I am suspecting that he really is a good person but still a puppet, and one who may fall into disfavor with the elite if he tries to stray too far from the agenda. In other words, any Hitler-like similarities I see as not much to do with him and more to do with the plans that were in place before he arrived on the scene, whether or not he becomes a dictator-like figure or not.

Sounds more like pulp entertainment. Nazi's are 'ok' to despise thus when a show needs a bad guy it's an easy target. Also, who's gonna complain about killing Nazi's on TV?

It could be buuuut, I heard this last night, "you are either with us or against us" sound familiar? yes quoted on the history channel as something Adolph Hitler used and there was a Valkyrie special and there was actually two differnent specials, also it was uncanny to think that what Hitler used was the rallying cry that Jews had gained too much power and status in the society and they were corrupting the so called culture and the pure aryan natives needed to take back their government from the socialists, he actually was completely against socialism but it was too ironic because that is what he implemented, I don't know but it could just be coincidence but it crossed my mind a second as to why so many shows about the nazis were on.

Also, one needs to figure in the "copycat" factor. If a show, any show, gets fair ratings, then it's copied in as many ways as possible to cash in on viewers. Right now the Tom Cruise movie is catching interest, so naturally, anything "Hitler" is in. And if one documentary on Hitler gets some good ratings, (for that venue), then the boys in suits figure 9 or 14 or 26 shows would bring in more viewers.

A lot of it is all about the money, IMO. (The people that run these channels aren't artists, they're bean counters.)

I think they are trying to head off increasing anti-Jew sentiment.
