Cynthia McKinney Aboard Boat Headed for Gaza, Intercepted by Israeli Naval Force

www.foxnews.com

Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, unimpeded by the "closed military zone" imposed by Israel, was among 16 people aboard a medical supply boat that collided with an Israeli naval ship Tuesday as it tried to enter coastal waters around Gaza.

The yacht, owned by the U.S.-based Free Gaza Movement, was reportedly carrying 3.5 tons of medical supplies donated by Cyprus. A press release from the group claimed "several Israeli gunboats intercepted the Dignity she was heading on a mission of mercy to Gaza." They said the Israeli military fired machine guns into the water in an attempt to stop the Dignity's progress.

Israel attacking boats in international waters huh? McKinney was going there to deliver medical aid to the Palestinians. No weapons just aid and last I checked in war your allowed to have your people attended to am I not right? Its stuff like this that make me wonder if Israel is not going for extermination instead of just wanting to get rid of Hamas.

The Israeli military claims that they were weaving in the water and were not rammed. However, I find that hard to believe since there were to hits to the front, and apparently one hit to the back.

Best wishes to McKinney and the other humanitarian aid workers out there, may they stay safe. Whatever policies I may have agreed/disagreed with, I can't find fault in a person bringing aid to help the victims of war.

I can almost imagine McKinney turning around and slapping the Israeli boaters when they wanted her to identify herself.

I was completely buying the story until I heard McKinney is involved.
That woman is a crackpot and an opportunist. The story may well be true but her involvement is always of dubious intent.

Look, I'm not a defender of the Israelis or anything, but come on people, during a military operation, (yes I admit, it's a bit one-sided, fish-in-a-barrell type situation), you cannot allow random deliveries to your enemy in a war zone. Could be delivering mil. supplies, intelligence, a rescue operation, etc. They are lucky they didn't get blown out of the water.

Apparently that boat got severely rammed by an Israeli ship.

What kind of sick cowards don't allow their enemy to have medical supplies?

Israel showing its true colors.

I don't agree with you

But, if you can't allow what you describe can you at least not blockade the place and allow people to eat and have access to medical supplies?

I'm undecided in many things as well, I know Hamas is not the best of people and they allowed rockets being launched and stuff but you HAVE to differentiate between normal civilians and gangs should you not?

And what about those noise attacks, causing illnesses and many miscarriages, having the people resort to eating grass?

Maybe we in the US will get lucky and Cynthia will 'accidently' fall over board and sleep with the fishes!!! Damn what an oportunist creep she is!

If they can get bomb and missle making supplies in they can get food they just choose not to. Hammas bit the hand that fed them and now they pay the price.

Why do you assume so much?

Why don't you assume that they simply rammed the boat?

OPEN YOUR EYES AND WORK WITH COMMONLY UNDERSTOOD FACTS NOT ASSUMPTIONS!

Man... people like this blow my mind.

The term 'International Waters' is a misnomer. We routinely stop vessels out to 200 miles because we declare that to be our boundry. Israel declared this expanse of water as a controlled area. Under the infamous Geneva convention its perfectly legal to declare such a zone for security reasons. Dimwit Cynthia and her 'Free gaza' comrades decided to ignore it and they got there butts handed to them! I only wish they had sunk that damned yatcht.

Edit to add, I find it hillarious that Cynthia is now the Green candidate, seeing she probably has one of the biggest 'Carbon Footprint' in Washington, DC!!!

That's true, but Israel is in violation of several 4th Geneva Convention Protocols in it's military endeavors to begin with and refuses to recognize the 4th Geneva Convention Protocols.

As is often the case with the United Nations, Israel likes to take advantage of who the U.N. decries or sanctions as being a pariah, rouge or terrorist nation, yet won't abide by any of the U.N. procedures attempting to govern and limit Israel's violations.

It seems subjective, selective and hypocritical to me. Either honor all of it or evoke none of it.

That would be Cynthia McKinney. She's always in some sort of drama. By the way I noticed that the boat was flying the Lebanon flag. It's not like it was a U.S. envoy or anything.

Gaza probably does need supplies, but it's not an actual prision camp or anything. Here's British journalist and peace activist Lauren Booth shopping in a Gaza supermarket this fall.
