Hezbollah missile stock 'tripled'

news.bbc.co.uk

Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak has said the Lebanese Hezbollah movement now has three times as many missiles as before the 2006 Lebanon war.

Mr Barak told MPs some of its 42,000 missiles could reach the southern towns of Ashkelon, Beersheba and Dimona, more than 200km (125 miles) from the border.

Hezbollah fired thousands of rockets into northern Israel during the 2006 conflict, killing some 40 civilians.

More than 1,125 Lebanese, most of them civilians, died in Israeli attacks.

was reading this
and two things stood out straight away

Mr Barak also said that the movement's inclusion in Lebanon's national unity government earlier this year meant that Israel might take wider action against the country's civilian infrastructure in future.

"The integration of Hezbollah into the Lebanese state exposes Lebanon and its infrastructure to in-depth attacks in the event of a new conflict," he said.

1. Israel saying that if anything should arrise in the future
civilian infrontstructure will be attacked again (we all know Israel the piller of hope and glory for democarcy in the middle east doesnt go that low) the civilian infrontstructure attacked a few years ago were CGI.

Israel would never break the Geneva accord or UN laws, being a UN member and signatory

(sarcasem off)

if Lebanese civilian infrontstructure is fair gain if Israel get twitchy does that mean Vice versa on the Israelis aswell.?

if anyone brings in the reports on Hazbullah missile attacks during the conflict, the ratio compared to Israel attacking civilian infrontstructure out weights hazbullah by a long shot.

2. that they are pissed off that Hazbullah and the lebonease goverment are moving forward insted of fighting amongst them selves.

Oh, those pesky Hezbollah's always reeking/raking/wrecking? havoc. When will they learn that this is the 20th Century and that countries do not invade or bomb other nations. Diplomacy is the only answer. If they will not learn by our leading by example, we will just have to bomb them to make them understand. Tis only fair. Their women and children will thank us in the long run....

Mm. The same women and children that Hezbollah use as human shields.

Yeah. They'll thank us in the long run.

Maybe they're just looking to change their U.S. Dollars into something a bit more stable... like weapons, since they can'y find any gold out there.

Pretty easy to trade some weapons for a few sheep!

Hezbollah: "We have no gold, and U.S. dollars are worthless. Will you accept this missile as payment for a few sheep?"

Farmer: "COOL! Missiles. It's a deal!"

.... I'm being sarcastic. You can't blame them though for stocking up. Do what you can I guess to keep your own safe.
