Protester tries to handcuff 'traitor' Rove

An anti-war protester has attempted to handcuff former Bush administration aide Karl Rove, who was speaking at a San Francisco mortgage bankers' meeting.

A statement by the group Code Pink identified the woman as 58-year-old Janine Boneparth, who tried to put handcuffs on Rove in what she called a citizen's arrest for "treason."

Rove, who was speaking today at the Mortgage Bankers Association's annual convention, elbowed Boneparth away as she was escorted off the stage.

In total, five Code Pink members were removed from the hall during Rove's appearance. The organisation says none of the five women were charged.

Good for them! People are finally deciding to take action rather than sit back and let the world melt around them.

Regardless of whether or not the protest succeeded, they still managed to get the word out that enough is enough, it's time to take action and stop thinking that we are powerless to stop it.

I believe we will see more and more of these types of protests as time progresses and the global crisis begins to hit home to more and more people.

When will an actual police officer step up to the plate and preform this arrest. Even if Rove gets out in a day, at least the point will have been made. My prediction is that if and when Obama wins, Rove will leave the country.

I saw this on another news site earlier. Gotta love the smug sneer on Rove's face while it's taking place. By now this criminal knows he'll NEVER be charged with anything, after the endless cowardice and empty threats he's seen over and over from our do-nothing, equally criminal congress.

The only way any of these criminals will ever be brought to justice is when the people grow tired enough of the endless criminality and victimizing, and take matters into their own hands. Right now its just criminals protecting criminals all across the board. A big, giant crime family.

These poor women probably got put on the governments terrorist farce list.

How is it that people like J.F.K. and John Lennon get assassinated, yet human trash like rove are still walking around?

It will be interesting to see what kind of punishment this woman will receive. If the RNC protesters are facing 7.5 years in prison for thinking about protesting the republican convention, I can't imagine that she will get off lightly. There has to be a giant loophole in the Patriot Act that they can use to put an "evil-doer" like this behind bars for a very long time.

Ironic it takes a woman to have balls like this. A true hero.

I had to laugh when I saw that vid. Rove hardly seemed surprised. Every member of the Bush Crime Family has an eternity in handcuffs to look forward to. I hope they’re enjoying their piddling little power and wealth now.

If she had been shot in the attempt to handcuff and arrest Rove, she would have become a martyr for the growing discontent of the American people.

Considering the mood in America today, the smart thing was to simply remove her from the stage.

You're right, it would have been better if they had shot her! Then, we would have a catalytic moment to rally around and hopefully awaken the sheeple from their hypnotic lives!

Roves security needs to be fired and replaced with blackwater vets from Iraq........shoot first then ask...........

You know I really dont have a feeling one way or the other about the topic at hand - does he need to be arrested? If so then find a prosecuter to charge him.....of yeah I forgot EVERY member of the judicial system is in on the take.

Should she have been shot? Obviously NOT, should she have been arrested? Undoubtly YES - she assaulted him.

My problem with this thread is the term SHEEPLE.

Why is it that everytime ( on ATS anyway ) someone has a different view than you or someone disagrees with you, you must call them a sheeple? ( I dont mean only you, YOU as a general description of posters )

Is it because you have no other choice of words? Is it because your discussion is done and you must lash out?

There have been lengthy and serious debates regarding the term "sheeple" as it applies to the context we see here. "Search" function might show you 'why' this is an accepted term in the opinion of many.

Of course, this could have all been a set up. A demonstration teaching the futility of resistance, or the actual 'power' of the citizen arrest in today's power structure. Rove was never even worried; of course.

"In total" includes the woman that tried to handcuff Rove. None of them were charged? Why do you suppose that is? Cross your fingers.

It is not an accepted term. I have been on this board for years and registered around a year and half ago - so I do not need to do a search for the term SHEEPLE - I have seen it in posts for YEARS - it is an insult, not an accepted term. Everytime it is used it is in a negative context. You dont agree with my view then you must be a sheeple, you dont think the government "did" 9/11 then you must be a sheeple, if you dont think aliens are bringing ships of light to Earth you must be a sheeple. N E G A T I V E every TIME.

It is simply a way for the poster to "call out" someone who does not agree with them.

It is no different than calling someone "son" or "boy" or "little girl" while posting, it is a way to lash out because that is all that is left in the discussion. Using terms like "sheeple" - "boy" - "son" are used to simply incite what the poster sees as the opposition.

Last I checked there was a government subpoena or something like that to make him testify under oath on some issues. So who is not doing their job the police who are supposed to real him or his security?
