I would like to enter the Halloween Short Story Contest, but I'm not familiar with the process by which to submit my story. Is it possible that someone may be able to explain it further?

I have posted my contribution here:

These Dark Worlds

I've received a bit of feedback that it might not be Halloweeny enough. Please have a look, and let me know what you think.

Love the story idea, but I just can't find how to enter. Can I post my story here?

No, way too long.

Thanks

This has been another fine contest with many outstanding entries. It makes me wonder; is there anything more the board mods could do to promote the short story forum? Maybe feature a link on the site home section as well as the board home? One of the stories from the contest could become a big hit on the net. Who knows?

Alright, I'm glad to announce the winners at long last:

First Place: Elsie, by Access Denied

Second Place: A Night Of Legend - nyk537

Third Place: Suffocation, by counterterrorist

The Golden Greenhorn Award for Exemplary Newcomer: Never to home-To Coma; The Story of Katya K's Halloween by HugmyRek

The Bod Award for Best Mod Entry: Drunken Wager, by Skyfloating

The Gary Coleman Award: The story with the most comments (talked about, Willis): Suffocation - counterterrorist

And finally, the honourable mentions go to:

These Dark Worlds - Evasius

Strange Morning - jpm1602

Veritas Cartas - Voidmaster

It was a good contest, but very consistent issues brought up by judges were lack of adherence to the theme. I'll chalk that one up as my bad, I thought it would be good. Hope everyone had fun.

WOOHOO! Thanks.
That would be the story I debated whether or not to even write.
For the record..
"The Helper" was written by Antar.

Congratulations to all.

I have yet to read the two winners.

Thanks for having me win "the best" Mod entry, as mine was the only Mod entry.

sounds good. I've missed the deadline for most online short-story Halloween contests.
I've got a 4 page wee story about a vampire baby that could work here.
What kind of prizes are you talking about?
And do you have any kind of security for posting our work, so it won't get ripped off?
Sorry to sound suspicious.
