As the title says, what inspired you to choose your ATS/BTS name? There are plenty of wierd and wonderful names going about, and would be good to know what was the motivation behind them

Mine was based on Sliders, the nick name the character Rembrandt gave Jerry O Connors characters (Q_ball) lol...random but at the time it seems fun I guess lol

...because I like where the sand meets the seagrass. I like to think there, and watch my dog and kids play on the beach. I love all things ocean.

I also like the real seagrass as it is home to the fishes.
I like seagrass furniture, and baskets, and rugs.

I wanted to have a store on the boardwalk named that.

Great Question!

Thx for asking...

My inspiration is...

Rodrigo Mendoza is a fictional character, portrayed by Robert De Niro, in the movie The Mission written by Robert Bolt.

He was a slave trader and mercenary who killed his brother in a sudden duel. He isolated himself (he was untouchable by law, because his brother had asked him to duel) before his meeting with Father Gabriel, who was building a mission to convert the Guarani tribe to Catholicism. Later he followed Father Gabriel to the mission and became a Jesuit monk. At the end of the movie, he and the other Jesuits, as well as most of the Guarani tribe, were killed by a Portuguese invasion.

Source: en.wikipedia.org...

HE WAS A REAL MAN (fictional, of course) who made mistakes, but accepted forgiveness!

The name Thekherham (pronounced Tee kee' rahm) is my actual alien name.
Well... actually... it's the name of the main character in a novel I've written. I liked the name so much I decided to use it as a screen name, here, there and everywhere.
But then again... maybe I really am Thekherham. Sometimes it feels like it.

Great thread.

I named myself sc for Sarah Connor from the Terminator Movies. T2 was on tv constantly around the time I registered. I had 'NO FATE' as my signature for quite a while and only changed it recently, which is Sarah's unofficial motto.

Also, it just so happens that I'm from South Carolina.

The 2099 is from a series of comics which take place in the year 2099 (Doom 2099, etc) which I have never read, but I liked the sound of twenty-ninety-nine.

Sometimes I wish I'd picked a better sn but when I registered for ATS I thought I needed to be super anonymous. I guess it didn't need to be as anonymous as a total alter ego, haha. sc2099 is like a future Sarah Connor, though I have much more in common with Scarlett than Sarah.

There are blonde bomshells ,as you all know. People at work said I was like a 50s starlett, but I wasn't a blonde bombshell because my hair was black. So they called me raven bombshell. Thats it.

Well when I was searching for the perfect user name I happened to be listening to John Lennon. Then his song "Gimme Some Truth" came on and I knew that was it. Not only is it an appropriate username for a site like this, it fits me perfectly.I have always had an unquenchable thirst for truth.

:w:

I need the truth and I need it NOW!:w:
