I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for Google Maps getting all clone-happy in this part of Holland. Alien base? Secret Test facility? What amateurs.....

Okay NV, we need coordinates or it didn't happen. You know how this goes.

But anyways, nice find.

Good find looks like but I don't have Google maps. Must be fun to work there with all the raw images.

What's up with the flora there that replicates itself no less than eight times ? I'm looking at the green and white areas to the left of the photograph. Something seems seriously amiss to me. Look at the white areas...... they appear identical. Curious.

Edit to add that I now realize that's what you were talking about -- the replication. Good find, if verifiable.

Cheers, OP

Concur, could you supply us with the co-ords?

Thanks.

I was looking for the OP spot, and found a worse one. Holland must have some kind of deal to hide various spots.

52 10'09.71" N 4 23'02.33" E

Near the coast
Near De Pan

Happy googling...

I did a Google search for military bases in Holland - first hit is "The Koninklijke Marine (Royal Netherlands Navy)" at Den Helder. Guess what? They used the same mosaic to cover the base as they did at the coordinates you gave above. So it has to be more than an anomaly.

This just proves one of two things:

1.The government has gotten stupider over time.

2. The goverment thinks we've gotten stupider over time.

on i side note theres two places that i find strange near area 51, im sure there nothing big I just dont know what 37 40'31.40"N 115 50'53.64"W

also at 37 11'36.44"N 115 56'08.97"W theres a road that leads to a blurry spot if its just the resolution then its still strange because that means it goes to absolutely nowhere.

N37 40 31.40 w115 50 53.64 alfalfa field using irrigation
N37 11 36.44 w115 56 08.97 is a place where supposedly UAVs are tested. I don't see any deliberate blur at those coordinates. Rather, the desert is just void of brush.

37.713260° -116.452960° is a spot on site-4 where I suspect blur as been applied. The brush is there, but blurry.

Slightly west, on the other side of that small pond or whatever it is, they have done the same thing, a bit less obvious though.
52° 5'23.81"N 6° 7'16.74"E

Very strange, no apparent roads in or out, directly west of a golf course.

And slightly south of this, we have the famous Holland "road trees"...

What gives with Google Earth lately?

My first one disappeared.

Loaded up a new version, it disappeared.

Same deal, loaded up again and the latest version disappeared.

Loaded up a new version yesterday and it shows a friends house that was built about seven years ago as simply a graded site.
The past Google Earth I had showed his house complete including the new shop and carport.

My house shows as it was about two years ago . . . which is ok since there's been no changes.

I do realize Google Earth uses aerial photos as well as satellite, just strange that it should now use older photos and maps in some areas.

There's nothing of any particular importance in his area.
