Obama has got to be a pathological liar. Have you seen his latest remarks where he tries to look like a super strong candidate who can stand up to Iran? He was speaking in Israel, to an Israeli audience, and made the statement that he was in charge of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee.

“Just this past week, we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee, a bill to call for divestment from Iran...”

So not only is Obama NOT the head of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, he's not even on the committee at all (Committee List). What a fraud! This isn't just a slip of the tongue like his 57 states comment. This is just an outright, bold-faced lie.

This is not just some simple gaff - a slip of the tongue that can be explained away.
Either he has no clue what committees he is on, or he is deliberately lying.
Either way - he is not fit for any public service position, much less, POTUS.

Haven't you guys heard? It's okay for Barack Obama to lie and misrepresent himself as long as he gets your vote. Political expediency beats honesty hands down in the game of politics.

If he actually told the truth, no one would vote for him. Change, Hope, Unity... Yeah right

Mr. Obama, like virtually all political figures, is an 'image' crafted by those behind the Republocrat combine.

I wouldn't expect an Obama supporter to even flinch at this statement.

Ya you know what is ironic??? people are voting for him mostly because they are sick of the current king a falsehoods. I want to projectile vomit the moment I hear Bush or Chenny even speak. Most of the people I know feel the same way- I suggest people will vote him in based on an extreme hatred for Bush and anything that is related to him.
Obamas popularity is directly related to Bush's conduct- just a thought...

Unbelievable, and the worst part is, it will be like it never happened.

Obama supporters will say something like:

Well, Obama happens to be on alot of commitees. Try doing all the traveling Obama does and see if you can remember what board you're a member of!

It's lame statements like these that keep Obama's BS unaccounted for. The media sure won't call him on it. The only place that will is "Blogsphere".

This IS a BOLD-FACED LIE!

There is a huge list of more than 64 blatent Obama lies and this one can be no doubt added to it, even moved to the top!

It appears that the Obama camp is explaining this by saying that Obama introduced the bill which he is referring to (which is true). In other words, he simply made a mistake and was referring to the bill.

I'm not sure I believe that. The way he emphasized it, immediately after referring to the committee itself leads me to believe that he knew exactly what he was saying.

Right on, what a lame excuse!

First he was passing bills before, and then we learned they didn't get passed. He even claimed bills to be his own idea and initiation when they were in fact another Senator's bill.

The lies just keep a comin'

This is a simple slip of the tongue.

What he was talking about was the provisions that were passed which were his provisions.

Here is a link to it

You folks should really do your research before jumping on every gaffe as if it is a lie.

For example, today I heard Neil Boortz (Conservative radio personality in Atlanta) say that John McCain had won the Democratic Nomination. He clearly made a mistake, but I knew what he meant.

Come on folks, this is an example of some people on this forum being challnged by common sense.

It's just hilarious that there is obviously nothing of any real substance which can be leveled against Obama, so the right wing blogs and their surrogates have to resort to campaign bloopers for their political attacks

Well, except that Obama is an inexperience politician with socialist ideas, absolutely no idea how to manage foreign policy, and if elected, will go down in history as being as bad as Jimmy Carter.

Other than that, he's good to go!
(See, I can do that, too!)

On the contrary I believe what you call his "inexperience" is his "strength of new ideas". I believe his ability to manage foreign policy is stronger than any president we have had in my lifetime, and if elected, he will go down as being the pivotal change we needed to lead our Great Nation into a bold and brave new future of leadership in the world.

completely misrepresenting yourself is not a "slip of the tongue" or a "blooper", it's lying.

How much more substance do you people need before you decide to awake from your trances? He lies, he uses dirty tactics against his running mates, he associates with racists and domestic terrorists, his wife hates America, ad infinitum..

Even Barack admitted he did not have the experience or qualifications to be President in 2008. Listen to your idol say it with your own ears..

Ah. But 4 years of experience LATER - he's running, and seemingly more popular and qualified than McCain.

If the only job of POTUS were commander in Chief, mccain would be the man.

But since its not, Obama's our guy
Go Obama Rah Rah Rah.

4 years experience is what? 8 years LESS than McCain in terms of senate? (correct if im wrong...just going off a 1/2 brained memory)

So 8 years less corruption isnt good enough?

Well.....in very little time, im afraid (for you) that it'll have to be

Because unless McCain is holding some aces up his sleeve, he's going to loose this....by a landslide.

Politics is all about telling your target audience what they want to hear and making them believe you, Obama is no different when it comes to this. Everything in politics is a sales pitch and we are all consumers. This is yet another reason why voting in this country is a joke. The current president we have is the biggest joke on the planet as is anyone who actually believes any of the poop coming out of his mouth. I still want to see Obama win it in November just to change things up a little bit. McCain is more of a joke than Obama is. Pick your puppet and vote for them for those who actually believe that their vote will make a difference. Learn to embrace the NWO, you have no choice in it.

Barack was the person who said he felt he was unqualified to run for the Presidency in 2008, not me. He even went on to disparage others who might believe they were qualified with such nominal experience. Do you believe what he has to say on the subject or not? He's your candidate.

If by some fluke he actually wins, I honestly feel sorry for our country Andrew. We'll think living under the Bush's regime was the good ole days..

McCain has been a Senator for 20 years. That's considerably more than Barack.

I imagine they have a couple of big bombs to drop on Obamas campaign when the time is right. I have no worries about his winning, it just ain't gonna happen no matter how many free passes he receives from the MSM.

You lie when you want to cover something up, or pretend to be something..

the idea of a lie is that no one finds out.

Why would he lie about something like this, knowing full well anyone of those people could do basic research and see its a lie?

People here attack Obama yet praise mccain..

if i remember correctly, didnt Mccain sing '' bomb bomb bomb iran? ''

.. I swear, some people would use an Obama 'fart' as an accusation of him using weapons of mass destruction against innocent lambs...

Its sad that this sort of BS has now become the norm on ATS.
