There has been a technical glitch in NASA's mission to Mars.
A day-and-a half after the Phoenix lander touched down near the planet's north pole, it is not getting its commands about what tasks it is supposed to carry out.
NASA officials say the problem is with a UHF radio on the orbiting spacecraft, but they are not too worried about it yet.

Well first of all, Nasa has never sent any probes to Mars. The images are all of the Atacama Desert in Chile.
Why did NASA choose the Atacama desert to take photographs in? Because the terrain is plantless, contains little life, and greatly resembles the terrain on Mars.
