Through the years, I've often wondered...What's the deal with Steven Speilberg and UFOs/Aliens?

As a kid, living in Arizona, his first amateur short film to garner some state-level publicity was "Fire Lights," that latter became a big production feature film, "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."

The world's most successful film maker has produced three blockbuster movies on the subject: Close Encounters of the Third Kind,(1977) E.T. (1980) and War of the Worlds (2005).

George Lucas's & Speilberg's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull's plot is rumored to center around alien presence/Area51 opening scene/the crystal skull itself.

I assume a man as brilliant & billionaire rich as Steven Spielberg, must believe in UFOs and Aliens. Why else devote such considerable efforts and time to such "crazy talk" subject matter?

* Do you think Steven Spielberg, privately believes in them?

* Do you think that he unknowingly/knowingly is part of Disclosure?

Yes.

No. I think he enjoys what he does. He makes great films. You also forgot to mention AI with its alien ending and also the mini series Taken
I think he and the writers of these films think carefully about what will make the movie successful and write and direct it from that point of view.

Spielberg has had an interesting relationship with the U.S. government, and most notably, Ronald Reagan. I think they had a mutual interest in the subject. And as per standard practice, the government seeks ways to exploit it's country's assets.

I have just been to a screening of the new Indy film and I can confirm that the plot deals with aliens and ancient civilizations.
The story was written by George Lucas but I believe that there similar rumors & speculations regarding his involvement with UFOs and the government.

Steven had a close encounter when he was a child. I think that he wrote ET based on his childhood. If you watch the film closely and his life there are too many coincidences there. I concluded that he found ET running around in his backyard and gave him powers, then the government took the Alien away. At least, that's what I believe about steven.

I want to see the crystal skulls.

There is a movie some where on Youtube that has an interview with Spielberg some time in the 70's.
Spielberg clearly states he is interested in the UFO subject after having a sighting him self in Las vegas during the early 70's.
I couldn't find the video though...sorry.

A friend of mine was going to film school years ago and told me one of professors said spielbergs original screenplay was huge and the Film Co wanted him to make three differnt screenplay from it.

What were they? Close Encounters, ET, and Starman were originally the same flick...

Personally I think Spielberg's the pied piper of Ufology.

However according to Stephen Basset, a man with Spielberg's professed and demonstrated interest in the subject, his political clout and vast financial resources, he isn't doing enough to break the truth embargo and force disclosure on UFOs.

I searched and couldn't find much info, but I recall reading that Steven Spielberg has one of the best collections of "Alien Implants" in the world.

I think that somewhat qualifies him as a believer...

There was a blurb on the back of an alien toy licensed from the Speilberg movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" was surprising to find out about:

During the publicity blitz for Columbia Pictures' "Close Encounters
of the Third Kind", toy UFO aliens appeared in stores around the
world. A plastic model called "Authentic Bendable Extra Terrestrial
Figure" even today sits on my desk, his (its?) right hand altered
with glue to present the middle finger defiantly in my direction. On
the back of the cardboard wrapper originally containing the
"authentic" (whatever that meant!) alien was a sensational quotation
from two-time space veteran Gordon Cooper.

The passage read: "Intelligent beings from other planets
regularly visit our world in an effort to enter into contact with us.
NASA and the American government know this and possess a great deal
of evidence. Nevertheless, they remain silent in order not to alarm
people. I am dedicated to forcing the authorities to end their
silence."

Not quite. ET started out as Night Skies, envisioned as a much darker film about mavelont aliens terrorizing a family, but a child in the family manages to befriend one of the aliens. Night Skies was in part based on the 1955 Hopkinsville Goblins case, which he heard about from Hynek while researching Close Encounters. The concept for ET grew out of the final scene in the original draft of Night Skies, wherein the friendly alien is standed on Earth. Other concepts in Night Skies were developed into Poltergeist.

What? Where did you hear this? ET grew out of an imaginary friend Spielberg created for himself after his parents divorce.

I wonder what kind of stuff Speilberg knows, being well connected and traveling in rarified circles?

So, is Speilberg's popular movies an effort to assimilate UFO/Alien presence and concepts into society, Disclosure?

Watch out ATS Spielberg plans on starting his own Paranormal/UFO social network called "The Rising"

Is this a genuine attempt at further disclosure? ...or is it simply another cash cow for him??

Steven Spielberg's Ghost/UFO Social Network To Be Called The Rising

More details on Steven Spielberg's upcoming ghost and UFO based social network, which we first wrote about in early March and followed up with additional details a week later. The site will reportedly be called "Rising" or "The Rising" (our understanding is that they have acquired both .com domain names), and the logo above and animated logo below are at least preliminary versions of the final.

We originally heard that The Rising is being created in partnership with Windsor Media, Terry Semel?s investment firm, but we still haven't gotten confirmation of their involvement. Windsor was created by Semel before he went to Yahoo, was put on hold during his tenure there, and fired up again after his departure last year.

The Rising will have original video content with a permanent host in addition to the social network where users can share stories and experiences, tapping into serious demand for this kind of thing. There are thousands of forums dedicated to paranormal and UFO topics today - among them is, yes, a Meetup site for ghost trackers.

Rumored launch date is this summer.

I actually remember reading somewhere that he was given specific information by the government to include in his Close Encounters movie. As far as what the information was, I don't know. But there is SOME reality to that movie, to help lighten the blow of their eventual appearance. (meaning the aliens).

That's interesting...he probably had to ask permission to use US military equipment and those planes in the desert in the opening scenes.

During that back and forth, there might have been some sanctioned leakage...essentially greasing Disclosure forward.

Perhaps, like you and I, he has been influenced by all the UFO/Alien talk around him all this time. Perhaps he recognizes the potential of ET in a good story.

Aliens are decent business for hollywood. Every so often there is a blockbuster movie involving Aliens.

The second National Treasure movie hints at Area 51 as well. I am guessing the followup movie will be on that.

I wonder if they (hollywood) monitor the web for interests and this must show up top. Some of the movies certainly seem to echo popular topics I come across here.

Hi, I made a thread about this very same topic. I was surprised to find out about a video of Mr Spielbergs beliefs in ET. Here is the video of Mr Spielberg talking about UFOs in 1977.

See Video Here

Hope this helps.
