Syria 'had covert nuclear scheme'

news.bbc.co.uk

The United States has accused North Korea of helping Syria build a nuclear reactor that "was not intended for peaceful purposes".

The site, said to be like one in North Korea, was bombed by Israel in 2007.

"Until 6 September, 2007, the Syrian regime was building a covert nuclear reactor in its eastern desert capable of producing plutonium," the statement said.

The CIA briefings included pictures which the US says prove that North Koreans were working inside the secret site.

Both Syria and Israel have been very quiet about this air raid. Now USA claims that the target was a nuclear facility, just as was suspected immediately after the raid.

How credible you think this report is? After all Syrian silence shows that they had something to hide...

I've just started this thread in War on Terror, oops my bad.

Yeah its quite interesting, on the BBC website theres a short video showing 3D models, maps and photos of the site.

To be honest it doesn't suprise me thats it was a nuclear site, if true or course.
