Chicago Tribune

CHICAGO - The Illinois Department of Public Health has issued a health alert to doctors and hospitals because ten Chicago-area patients have tested positive for an unusual type of drug-resistant influenza.

Scary stuff. The 10 individuals are in intensive care. I hope the drug cocktail they are giving these people works. If it does, could things start looking better for all new drug resistant influenzas out there?

Almost all infections due to viruses or bacteria could be resistant to antibiotics.

In this case this is a flu bug... Viruses, normally no cure by antibiotics... Tamiflu helps but most of the time, flu bug need time to cure no antibiotics.
