Anyone seen a manta ray craft??

I've heard of manta ray shaped craft many times but find it hard to get any info that includes drawings or sketches. I'd like to compare them with the sighting I had in 2004. Any info appreciated.

Hi Internos, I was just reading that story earlier but didn't see that top picture amongst them. Thanks. I'm in the middle of an argument with my partner over what we saw in 2004. We both saw the same thing but we disagree on a few details. There are so many sketches of discs and FTs around but with the manta-ray, although it gets a mention in a few places, there aren't many drawings to go with the stories. Wish I could do CGI.

2004? it seems that one has been spotted in UTAH, but neither pics nor drawings are available: but theres a good description there, IMHO

Shape : Triangle / Wing or Manta Ray

Description of object /s : Large Black Triangle / Wing or Manta shaped craft. all black, Slow moving, crusing at low altitude, producing/ emiting a strange unfamiliar jet-like sound at a low volume level, No tail section noticed, no tail marker light (beacon) noticed, leading edge was all wing , Flashing marker light (white beacon) at each wing tip instead of red & blue.

Haha, looks like we're trawling the same parts of the internet tonight. I was just there too and saw that one. I'll have to get some decent drawings done myself and post them here. Maybe somone will get in touch and say, "I saw that."

This event happened in the latter part of September 96.
My phone rang and it was the lady with the two daughters, she said my eldest daughter and I had been to visit friends at Heatherside a new housing complex in upper Camberley Surrey. We where just about to leave saying our farewells to our friends when a gigantic shape silently and slowly moved over my friends and us, to be honest we all looked up with mouths wide open.

The size of this huge form was we estimated at least 600ft wide at the back and about the same kind of dimensions from the huge base to the nose; it was far bigger than the playing field belonging to the Heather Ridge First School, situated near by.

Mr. John R. Renz must have watched the movie War of the Worlds, his depiction is very similar.

Well, more likely the director of the movie googled the net, found the drawing and decided to make spacecrafts from the movie look like it.

You can tell this by the date of Mr. Renz's post:

As i did not read the book, listened to the novels, or watch the movie from 1953, i'm not sure if anything like that was previously mentioned in any fictional literature.

BUT, the curious fact is that my girlfriend AND her friend, both saw an Manta Ray-like strange reddish moving "cloud" flying slowly over the sky...

That's why i started searching about that, and got here.

well i will mention that i had a dream some months ago, of which i only remember a few seconds of...but the wierd thing is, I DREAMT OF THAT EXACT AIRCRAFT, minus the green portions...but the very peculiar thing about it was, the "wings" of the craft actually flapped as it climbed into the sky. and it was pitch black outside.

it could just be a product of my wierd dreams, but i thought i'd mention it.

I've just found out my sighting was in March 2003 and not 2004 as I've typed above and probably other places besides. It was two days before the gulf war started. It definitely reminded me of a manta ray. Not some huge thing but just slightly bigger than a car. I was planting spuds in the garden when my partner came over to talk to me and this thing appeared beside his head about 100- 120 feet away. At first glance it looked kind of messy or unfinished. I looked at it, then at him then at the thing again and yelled "ufo". I stared for another couple of seconds and could see a reddish light flashing from the whole underside. The wings were short and stubby and turned up at the edges like a cowboy hat. It moved between the two houses over the road and started to rise very slowly from rooftop height. This is when I ran for my camera.I'm very slow at running because I have this muscle problem and the faster I try to go the slower I get, (same disease as the fainting goats). It must have taken me at least 20 seconds to get into the house for my camera and another ten to get out the front door. All the while my partner is watching this thing.As I'm moving I'm trying to get my camera switched on and moved to max pixels (only 2.1m) When I got outside the object was over one of the houses and about 50ft above the roof and still rising. It moved like an underwater mini-sub. Slow and clumsy.Here's the funny bit. It was around 3.30pm. The schools were just out, it was a perfectly sunny day and I live next to a main road with a school behind my house. There was no-one to be seen, no cars, no people,.The man directly across the road saw me running with my camera up and he rushed outside in his dressing gown with his binos. I ran across to his neighbours (my mother-in-law) and started banging on the door to tell her there was a UFO above her house. By this time it was up so high it was a tiny speck. My photos show a black blob, except for the very last one I took which showed a silver ball.My partner still says to this day that I took forever to get out the house and another thing I remember is that all that morning whilst digging, I kept saying to myself over and over "bring the camera out".

I wonder how many of these advanced craft are able to change their form? It would explain alot don't you think?

It certainly would because I'm quite sure when I first glimpsed the object it was roughly a black saucer shape with 3 or 4 four rougly cut large white holes along it, but really it was nothing like that when I glanced again.

The Manta Ray shaped Green lit craft is from the 1950s War of the Worlds. The new movie uses tripods like the HG Wells book used. The pictures I posted are far older than the reported account. Unless the director used a time machine, went fifty years into the future, and used Google, I highly doubt the reported account had anything to do with "inspiring" the craft from the 1950s War of the Worlds. More than likely the film inspired the report.
