I belived Werewolves were fake until i saw one this summer. It was around dusk and i had settled in but it was still light enough to see. all of a sudden my friend busts in the front door yelling about something in a neighboring field. i decide to entertain him and i followed out to the field we walked about half a mile and i still didnt see anything and i wanted to back but he insisted. so i reluctantly followed and just before we reached an old slaughtering house i saw a rather large canine about 70 ft away. it was sitting on its haunches and i thought it was a big dog until it stood up on both legs and RAN to the old slaughtering house.
Both of us thought it was a good idea to head for the hills so we ran back to my house. it followed us. by then it was dark so we were about to retreat to my house and lock up and then came a smell so foul and terrible i still remember it thet terrible smell is only comparable to rotting human flesh. Just then it ran in front of us about 30ft away i estimated its height at 6-7.5 feet we bolted in and stayed there and for the rest of the night but the dogs in the neighborhood would not stop barking. We went outside in the mourning and the smell still lingered. The smell stayed for the days and on the third night around midnight the sound of a window being forced out woke me. i took a knife and explored and found that a window pane had been completely forced without breaking the Glass. after that the smell disappeared and i havent seen one since. There is no explanation for the animal and there was no evidence so i didnt post till now. I decide to post because someone started a were thread and i wanted to contribute but i looked at the size of the story and decide to post it. I live nearLBL and people tell stories of a beast like the one i described but those are just stories right?

Im not sure what to think, personally my geography is ****, so I dont know what you talk about when you say LBL.

Did you call the police or anyone like that? If what you say is true you cant let it go unnoticed.

I went to LBL on the Tennessee side once in Sixth Grade for about a week and I didn't see anything. Nevertheless, the land is heavily forested with scarcely any people at all so I can't rule anything out.

I would be more prone to think you and your friend saw a Bigfoot. Many eye witnesses to a Bigfoot comment on the horrible smell.

If it were a werewolf, I don't think you and/or your friend would have made it back to the house alive.

Maybe not a TRUE werewolf, but maybe some sort of shapeshifting druid or shaman? Maybe a man who retained his human reasoning but assumed the form of a giant bipedal wolf? I think most likely this whole story is made up but I have heard many stories of shapeshifters so who knows.

I personally am not a big believer in "werewolves" per say, however the idea does facinate me....I putting my money on Bigfoot, especially if the area is heavily wooded.

Would have put my money on a bigfoot to but, two things come to mind when i saw it. 1)it moved very very fast i mean as fast or faster than a greyhound dog When it ran in front of us it came whin in 30 ft and it covered about 200 ft in 4seconds ( might be wrong it was dark and i was fearing for my life)2) i saw its face a ugly mug i'll never forget, long snout ,large round eyes, and pointed ears the typical were wolf you would picture.

Weird that u said LBL. i was like beast in LBL? I go to murray state 20 mins from LBL. But i've heard stories of rumored secret cults and stuff in the area where people are said to be vampires and werewolves. It sounds fare fetched and never believed it. But possibly could be one of these people ive heard rumors about. Crazy.

Here's a page with something on the Beast of LBL:

It's primarily a Bigfoot page, so scroll down about 2/3 and you'll see the links.

After hearing all of the reports of the "MONSTER OF BRAY ROAD", "THE BEAST FROM THE LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES", "THE LIMA MARSH MONSTER", and the "HOLLY HILL CREATURE" or "THE WISCONSIN WEREWOLF" the SEARCHING for BIGFOOT TEAM made the decision to drive out to the Wisconsin area and see for ourselves...

Found one page with a scary pix, but it was a drawing so I didn't link it.

If the Sci-fi channel or the History Channel did another series with the various werewolf legends (see quote above) I'd watch. Doubt OLN/Versus would be into that with their new programming.

Bring back Autumn Williams and give her producer status so she can do the show she wants. (She was the chief investigator on OLN's Mysterious Encounters).

I have some of those taped, but I'd love a DVD. Are you listening White Wolf Entertainment, and Doug Hajicek? Doug is the producer of Legend Meets Science, as well as the Mysterious Encounters. Rumor has it he's doing a series for the History Channel so we may be in luck yet.

i thought the same thing. how do you know what rotting flesh smells like? saying something like that makes me very skeptical of your story. why would you say something like that, because im sure you have no idea what that smells like. maybe your wording was off a little, or you were just using sensational words to tell your fake story.

Hey there 'The Exiled One'.

Well, I don't know what to make of your post
Initially, after the first few lines the little voice in my head was screaming 'FAKE' ... and I couldn't help wondering whether or not you bumped into a young girl wearing a red cloak whilst you and your friend were running for your life

But I've had my fair share of unbelievable experiences (that only I know with certainty were real) ... so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt ... at least for the now.

I don't understand the concern with the smell of 'rotting human flesh' that some posters have latched onto ... you're just telling a story - right ? and I'm sure all rotting flesh smells pretty bad ... whatever it's source.

The thing that I'm having trouble getting my head around is something else entirely (and please correct me if I'm wrong).

In your OP you come across as a regular young guy ... chillin at home ... when your friend drags you out to see something strange ... you follow him (under protest) ... have the bejeebus scared out of you by something that sounds like it came straight from a horror film ... and end up running back home in fear of your life.

Ok, that bit I can understand (if it's true), it's how most people would react under such circumstances ... I certainly would

But the bit that confuses me is that I look at your avatar (an inverted pentagram) ... then I read your signature
not cool ... not cool at all

So I have to ask ... are you really into that s*** or are you just trying out a new persona for size. Either way you shouldn't be surprised when bad things happen when you reflect such an image ... real or not.

Please don't think I'm having a go for the sake of it or that I'm trying to put you down on your own thread. Nothing could be further from the truth I promise you. As you can see from my name tag I am a fully fledged witch ... have been for over 20yrs. A long, long time ago I tried something out (I was very naive and thought I knew it all ... I didn't).

I learned the hard way that you DO NOT mess with that stuff because it's not always you that has to pay the price ... more often than not ... it's at the cost of who/what you hold most dear.

I can tell from the way you write that you are not the person your signature implies you are (unless you're a damn good con-man), all I'm saying is don't tempt it ... it is never going to be worth it, trust me.

Sorry for coming over like the stern mom ... lecture over
Woody

I'll bite here, though only because I live in central Ky and we have rumors of werewolves around in this area as well.

Whether you are telling the truth or not remains to be seen, obviously, however, after having read nearly everything I could get my hands on about the Beast of Bray Rd, in Wisconsin, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Not sure what you seen, but I would be very wary of playing around with whatever it is. Of course, you could always call some show like Unsolved Mysteries and get them out there to investigate. They went up to Wisconsin to investigate the beast of Bray Rd after all.
