Obviously they couldn't comprehend that the movie is fictional and not a documentary. The battle really happened but the movie is mostly based on a comic book, 300 by Frank Miller. Anyone who saw the movie would know that the movie isn't 100% accurate.

Damn, I guess they believed that whole Rose story too on that boat that sank.
