I have been watching the new Doctor Who again (I'm addicted!), and have to say that IT is the Time Travel program.

The Girl in the Fireplace takes place in the time of Madame du Pompadour (like 500 years ago or something), whereas the finale of season 1 took place something like 2000 years in the future.

You should really get into Doctor Who. I know it shows on Sci Fi in US so watch it! My avatar is a villain from the show, a Cyberman! (unless I have changed it months from posting this!)

I'd have to add the movie "Timecop"
The book or the movie "The Final Countdown" by Martain Caidin
The book "Replay" unsure of author.
The book "Time Travellers Strictly Cash" by Spider Robinson
