Build your own UFO

How would you like to be able to build a aircraft that is completely silent, uses no chemical propellant, has no moving parts, expells no mass and can levitate without the aid of Magnets?



Well now you can and the technology has been around since the 1960s. With the basic concept going back to 1928. The aircraft in question are called Lifters or ioncrafts.

They use pure electricity to create thrust creating a "Ion wind" or the "Biefeld-Brown Effect". There is still some debate exactly how these aircraft work.

Heres some thoughts on how they work

Ion-Wind -This type of propulsion obeys the current laws of physics in that ions that are accelerated by the electric-field between the wire and the foil create a movement of air producing thrust. This would create thrust in a manner similar to the way that an aircraft creates lift by displacing air, except that the Lifter requires no moving parts to accomplish this.

Biefeld-Brown -This type of propulsion requires no moving parts, and is believed to be created solely on the basis of an interaction between the high-voltage components of the Lifter and the surrounding vacuum-properties of the environment.

In other words, the Biefeld-Brown effect would create thrust by pushing against the fabric of space itself, and as a result would require no propellant to function -- making it a highly-interesting potential method of creating thrust.

This technology is proven to be able to be scaled up in size. The main issue right now is the power supply. None have been built that I know of that carry their own power supply, But these are now mainly built by experimenters and College students. These arent exactly people with access to nuclear batteries or reactors.

These things might not be able to bring us to the stars but they are pretty darn cool IMHO. They also do seem to act very much like reported UFOs. I personally just found out about these not too long ago and find them very interesting.

Thanks to Hal9000 for pointing me in the right direction on these Lifters after my interest was sparked by a History Channel show that featured one of these crafts There is just something so uncanny when you see one of these crafts levitate silently.

Ion wind is the working principle. If there was such a Biefeld brown effect, the lifters would work in high vacuum (not your standard household "vacuum"). They don't. If anyone can build a lifter that works in high vacuum and can prove it, don't let anyone know but go directly to Stockholm and get your Nobel prize.
