Dark and scary, ordinary, explanation
Information, nice to know ya, parnoia
Where's my mother, biofather
Up all night long
And there's something very wrong
And I know it must be late
Been gone since yesterday
I'm not like you guys
Twelve majestic lies

Kit-just wanted to say I love that song-and ask if you know if Blink is a Canadian band or not?

How about a lil' "Keller Williams." "One Hit Wonder"

Can you catch the sexual undertones?

Oh why can't I just latch on to your brain
And be that one song that drives everyone insane
The low end pumping right out of your trunk
That vibrate your sternum
The bazooka, a speaker of funk
That you feel,
From a block away
What is the deal?
I heard this song fours times today
Reel to reel
Backed by heavies in la
No even keel

Chorus

Overplay is the only way (2x)
Oh to be a one hit wonder
That will be oh so superb
Oh only for 15 minutes or so
in and out and
nobody gets hurt
in and out
nobody gets hurt

Record label mafia
is a putting on the heat
With a new store in Seattle
The next day Miami Beach
the next day it's Jay Leno
and the next day Letterman
And then it's Oprah in chicago
Man, when will it all end?
But I say have now fear
I'll be gone before you know it
In my private Lear
No second chance I dont want to blow it
Disappear
To my neverending luai
In 15 years VH1 'where are they now?'

Chorus

A simple little ditty
With a sharp catchy hook
And three little cowboy chords learned from a book
A pierce above my eyeball
And em cutting down my hair
I'll do what I'm told until I disappear
Into thin air

Overplay is the only way(8x)

Chorus

In and out
Nobody gets hurt

nin - the great below

Ocean pulls me close
And whispers in my ear
The destiny Ive chose
All becoming clear
The currents have their say
The time is drawing near
Washes me away
Makes me disappear

I descend from grace
In arms of underflow
I will take my place
In the great below

Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
and it took so long to bake it
and I'll never have that recipe again...oh, no!

I never had the first freakin' clue what the heck was being said, and I think I am a better person because of that.

LostSailor- That song's by a band called Silverstein. The album is called Discovering the Waterfront. Great album, IMHO.

think2much- Nope, Blink is from California in its entirety.

Another one, this whole song is great, but particularly the "Take this to your grave, and I'll take it to mine" is my favourite. That's from 'The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes' by Fall Out Boy.

"So get back, back, back to where we lasted.
Just like I imagine.
I could never feel this way.
So get back, back, back to the disaster.
My heart's beating faster.
Holding on to feel the same." From 'Memory' by Sugarcult.

I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain

‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel light when you’re gone away(

Ah.... Thanks Kit! I'll have to check them out. Heres a slow song I like... Love... Makes me think. Beauty.........

"Secret Smile" by "Phish"

Sometimes when the evening's young.
The wind dies down, the setting sun...
crochets the clouds with yarn so fine...
and fills the oceans with red wine.

hold on, hold on, to me.

the trees, the sky, the forest fair
bring a flavor to the air
i raise my glass and in a while
you answer with a secret smile

hold on, hold on to me

an airborne leaf that landed near
has carried Dionysus here
He'll slip away, but only when...
he sees our glasses filled again.

thanks kit-I dind't think so, (Blink=Canadian) but I have a crazy Canuck friend trying to tell me otherwise

...damn canadians think they know it all!

at least he gave me a decent radio station-The Zone- to stream through my computer so I get to hear more than what I would around these parts.

Ok, on to my song du jour...

yeah yeah...so forgive me in advance but I'm in a mood...and this song sums it up-sappy as it is

"I Feel You" by 3DD

They gave me a life that’s not so easy to live
And then they sent me on my way
I left my love and forgot my dreams
I lost them along the way

Those little things you say
When words mean so much
You never back down
And they all shy away
You always listen to me!

And what do I get to get me through these sleepless nights?
And what do I have to hold when no one’s there to hold me tight
And what do I see? the only thing that gets me through this is what I feel and I feel you

And this ain't no bed of nails
But there not roses just the same
God this road sure can be long
Another endless day, another seven hundred miles that’ll take me further from my home

Those little things you say
When words mean so much
You never back down
And they all shy away
You always listen to me

And what do I get to get me through these sleepless nights
And what do I have to hold when no one’s there to hold me tight
And what do I see the only thing that gets me through this is what I feel and I feel you

I know what you’re going through now
Believe me I live this

And what do I care to get me through these sleepless nights
And what do I have to hold when no one’s there to hold me tight
And what do I see the only thing that gets me through this is what I feel and I feel you

Nice one think2much....

Here is another Widespread Panic tune called Stop-Go....
Don't know why but I just like it. Reminds me about growing up for some reason.

Used to ride the highway
I used to know where I was going
Now the shade of the road is feeling cool beneath my feet
Used to ride on
Get to where I was going in a day
And now I've got to stop
And go, and stop and go along the way

Was a fool to waste my time
With searching my mind
But the more I find, the more I find the time is certain
Used to ride to get to where I was going in a daze
And now I've got to stop
And go, and stop and go along the way

*The band is an improvisational band so they never play the song the same way twice... But the core of the lyrics are what I posted above.... "Got to stop and strut.... Stop and go the long way."

Tears For Fears
Mad World

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tommorow, no tommorow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World
Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

Sailor...now I get it..."thought sausage" for your mood...you're a WSP fan!
I'm a bit slow at times but now that makes sense...I like "Jack" and...um....what is it..."You'll be fine" or something like that? They have such a nice bluesey jam sound and feel I never expected from their name- but a decent band

awoke this morning and I'm still in a mood...so here's an oldie that sums it up for the day:

from "Behind Blue Eyes" by The WHO

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through

But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be

I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free

Senser - Eject

You can sue me for malpractice
every single time I jack this.
'cause the lower I go, the less I wanna know
about the truth that rips through me like a bullet.
You feel the trigger and then pull it and figure
I was an irritant of something irrelevant,
you could ignore by locking the door or more
switching over to another station.
A towering monument to disinformation
beaming out on the current frequency
propaganda written out on the pages daily.
I see the system as it crumbles before me,
propaganda written out on the pages daily.

I see the system as it crumbles before me,
I see the system as it dies.

All I check is all I see, here before me...
All I check is all I see, here before me...
All I check is all I see is this:
CONDITIONING.

(Eject the program, reject the power)
(Let the nature flow, let the colour flower)

The hi-tech hypnosis
leads us straight to the late-night psychosis.
Cold symmetrical thoughts flow out like shards of ice
a paradise, a rich spice.
It's radiating a glow so let it flow, go, go
It's radiating a glow so let it flow, c'mon c'mon, go
let that # go.

Don't pull the wool over my eyes, you wool-puller
I hear your tone, I know exactly what you're full of.
Language is a virus, man is a violence,
I stand in defiance, my Spirit is my science.
I know all about the powers of social control,
so find another pigeon for your pigeon hole.
Burn my body, sell my name,
hang me high in the hall of fame.
What's gone wild will never get tame
and every blow just fans a flame.
Conditioned for the street meat and for the top
told us, sold us, they won't stop.
Put all their piggy-pennies in their piggy-bank so
they can consume you wherever they go.
Talk like a sit-com, eat your Whopper,
I won't be another Happy Shopper.

Be a good boy, ignore the facts you know you'll feel much better.
Bow before the God, we'll suck you dry and send your Mom a letter.
What do we have to do to make you touch it to make you feel it?
You've been altered and you can't conceal it.
Press the button to eject
from the cartoon frame of mind that won't connect.

HAHA... You've heard of Panic, that's cool. Maybe you can figure out where my name and location comes from... Here's the lyrics. Did I mention that I really enjoy music? My laptop and hence my music collection is one of the few luxuries I can enjoy while floating around in the middle of nowhere. I have quite a collection... From Rap to bluegrass. Classical to heavy metal.

Lost Sailor

Compass card is spinning, helm is swinging to and fro
Oh, where is the dog star, oh, where's the moon.
You're a lost sailor, been away too long at sea.

Somedays the gales are howling, sometimes the sea is still as glass.
Oh, raise the main sail, oh, lash the mast.
You're a lost sailor, been away too long at sea.
Now the shorelines beckon, there is a price for being free.

There's a sea bird cryin' and there's a ghost wind blowing
And it's calling you, to that misty swirling sea.
Till the chains of your dreams are broken,
No place in this world you can be.

You're a lost sailor, been away too long at sea.
Now the shorelines beckon, there is a price for being free.

You pay for being free, I'll tell ya freedom don't come easy,
Free don't always come for free,
Sometimes it's hard to know what to believe in.

Where to go, who to go to, where to be, who to be.
That means you're driftin'.... driftin'
Yeah driftin' and dreamin', really goin' on a dream now.
Really goin' on a feelin', really goin' on a feelin'.
Driftin', driftin' and dreamin'.

Cause there's a place you've never been
Maybe a place you've never seen now
You can hear them callin' on the wind
Driftin' and dreamin', driftin' and dreamin'.
Really goin' on a dream now, really goin' on a dream now,
Really goin' on a dream now.

Here is another big, big favourite of mine:

Queens Of The Stone Age - You Can't Quit Me Baby

It’s a mistake, but who knows,
Followed you home,
Crawled in your window,
This life is a trip,
When you’re psycho in love,
And I know,

Followed your friends,
You were not there,
Slashed and I cut,
I bled in the sink,
Heard what you said and,
Your laughing baby,
Slashed and I cut,
And I do it for you,
I want you to notice,
When I’m not around,
Wherever you are,

You’re solid gold,
I’ll see you in hell

Availible on:

What a song, what a band.

Oh man, you are so inside my head today...and I am sooooo slow!

when I was writing about how WSP has such a nice bluesy jam feel...I started to compare them to the Dead- I SYN! I swear-too freakin funny...so yeah..now I *get* it...Lost Sailor... and drifting and dreaming...too funny I don't know why your name and mood etc always stuck with me, and now I'm piecing it together-yeah I love music too...actually a bit too much!

Here is an example off too much...a few years ago when I was 19...ok so QUITE a few years ago...a friend and I had tickets to go see the Dead up in the mountains with Carlos Satana etc, and she wrecked her truck the night before...so....we < ahem > *borrowed* a govt car (She worked on a govt run wildlife refuge) and headed to the show anyway...

coming home we were under the influence of some kind of contact high...yeah thats it...and got lost...so we stopped and asked for directions from a near by car...it was a cop
so we then got directions from him and got back in the car...mind you the car said "US GOVT-FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY" on both car doors with govt emblems, and we were lost in the lountains coming home from a music fest...she wearing a peasant skirts and plenty of bells on her ankles...rings on her toes...

we held our breath for about 5 miles waiting for him to come back find us and arrest us...but hey...the car hadn't been reported stolen or missing...so really what could he do?

Think2much,

Thats a freakin' hilarious story...

Reminds me of one myself. Was the last Widespread Panic concert I went to. They played a three day concert at this outdoor amphitheater in Omaha Nebraska. Well, you can imagine what's going on in this camp ground that surrounds the amphitheater. Needless to say I was feeling... Alright.

So the show has been going on for a while and me and my buddies decide we should get up off our lazy asses and see the show we payed for. On the way there I realize I forgot... Something. HEHE... So I run back to the tent we have pitched and grab it.

Meanwhile my friends don't realize I got left behind, and I can see them walking way ahead of me. So I see this little orange 3 maybe 4 foot high temporary fence set up and notice if I hop this lil' thing i can catch right up to them. Did I mention I was pretty lubed up?

Next thing I know this golfcart comes skidding to a halt next to me, and this massive thick necked, I'm going to crush you puny long haired freak type guy walks up to me.

He says "show me your ticked stub."

I, of course, start digging through all my pockets. 10-15 minutes later i produce the stub. All the while saying as little as possible to this gorilla. Except why I hopped this little 3 foot temporary barrier.

He says "hop on."

I do.

He takes me to the front gate and hands me over to the police!!!!!!!!!!! Did I mention how messed up I am? I say to myself screw this... And start running!!!! I run right into the crowd packed around around the stage. That's when something cool happened. All the Panic fans let me through, obviously sensing I was in trouble, and closed off the route of the cops behind me. I got away scotch free.

Except I kept my head on swivel the rest of my time there. Anyway, that's one of my "stickin' it to the man" stories. I need to go see Panic again sometime... Fun shows.

thats the great thing about the music scene-the freakin people, you know? the best bands have the best fans glad you got away!

have you ever heard of Arlo Guthrie? Alices Restaurant? hehe if not, listen to "Alice's Restaurant Massacre" some time...OMG he cracks me up and it's based on a true story

when I was reading your story, and the description of the 'thick neck I'm going to crush you you puny long haired creep' etc guy busting you...I could so hear the story playing out in such a song

I've never seen WSP live-but I hear it's absolutely the way to go. Actually, I haven't been to any live music in a looong time...seems like that was all an entirely differnt life now...hell..I guess it was...

damn
