I can only roll my eyes at this one. Thanks for the scoop

Funny that the source code is locked up where no one can get their hands on it.

Oops sorry I don't think they got to the part where they discuss whether or not it was actually used in the election.

I suspect that it was though...

I'll try to find some more info about this

This has been on ATS before...anyway, I think this guy is a loon. The story makes no sense, especially since this was supposedly the 2000 election where touch screen voting systems were either nonexistent or very rare in Florida. Don't you all remember the hanging and pregnant chads? Plus I don't see how Tom Feeney could have appropriated voting software, that job is handled by the Secretary of State of Florida, who was Katherine Harris at the time.

Programmer Testifies He Wrote Vote-Rigging Program for Republicans-Video

Texas to Florida: White House-linked clandestine operation paid for "vote switching" software
By Wayne Madsen
On line Journal Contributing Writer

An exhaustive investigation has turned up a link between current Florida Republican Representative Tom Feeney, a customized Windows-based program to suppress Democratic votes on touch screen voting machines, a Florida computer services company with whom Feeney worked as a general counsel and registered lobbyist while he was Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, and top level officials of the Bush administration. According to a notarized affidavit signed by Clint Curtis, while he was employed by the NASA Kennedy Space Center contractor, Yang Enterprises, Inc., during 2000, Feeney solicited him to write a program to "control the vote." At the time, Curtis was of the opinion that the program was to be used for preventing fraud in the in the 2002 election in Palm Beach County, Florida. His mind was changed, however, when the true intentions of Feeney became clear: the computer program was going to be used to suppress the Democratic vote in counties with large Democratic registrations.

Feeney's desire to manipulate the vote would be manifested in his home base of Volusia County in the 2000 presidential election. According to The Washington Post, at 10 p.m. on election night, Al Gore was leading Bush in Volusia County by 83,000 to 62,000 votes One-half hour later, Gore's vote total had been reduced by 16,000 to 67,000 and an obscure Socialist candidate saw a sudden surge to 10,000 votes in a precinct with only 600 voters. The information on the Volusia optical scanner voting anomalies came from a leaked internal Diebold memorandum. In the end, Bush won Florida and the White House by a mere 537 votes in the most controversial U.S. presidential election in history. Feeney had long been a voice in Florida GOP politics. He was gubernatorial candidate Jeb Bush's running mate in 1994, a race in which Democratic incumbent Lawton Chiles defeated Bush. Chiles once referred to Feeney as "the David Duke of Florida politics."

There is additional information that the election rigging principals connected to the State of Florida and Jeb Bush may have also tried to use contractors tied closely to state contracts to parlay the touch screen software into Maine, which has proportional distribution of its electoral votes by congressional district, and Ohio, the key state in 2004. The information was provided by insiders in Tallahassee who are close to offices involved in procurement by the state government. Sources close to U.S. intelligence pointed to a $29.6 million check supposedly issued on October 22, 2004, by Laurentian Bank in Montreal, Canada, that was rumored by intelligence circles to have been used to pay for the technicians who developed the software to rig the election. The computer voting machine technicians and maintenance personnel involved with the rigging were reported to have included Russians, Mexicans, and Brazilians.More

I don't need a guy coming forward to know that something was fishy with the voting system. When a voting machine is capable of producing a paper trail, why in a major state like Florida, were they used without one.

Here is a cool website to keep you up to date on all information and press releases related to voting machines and scandal. www.blackboxvoting.org...

If you haven't already, check out this thread,
www.abovetopsecret.com...

ATS members have really put alot of research into this subject for which I applaud you guys. I consider this above all conspiracies to be perhaps the greatest threat to mankind right now. A dictatorship in America would be the worst case scenario, especially given our newly touted Preemptive Nuclear Foriegn Policy. The electoral process is the last best defense we have against crooks and liars, take that and all we are left with is our right to bear arms and our right to overthrow government which ceases to represent to the people. Diebold, ESS, and Sequoia need to be stopped. Source Codes and independent oversights are not enough, votes should be on paper that can be counted, and recounted, and recounted if they have to be.
Learn all you can about this new voting system, the truth is actually pretty damned alarming.

How much more proof does anyone need? Some of you should stop living in denial and face the truth just once. You, have been had.

That is big news...

You should tell people it's his testimony in court so they don't think it's just someone's writing....
Why isn't this on the news???

Here's a snippet:

At an October 2000 meeting with Feeney, according to the affidavit and BRAD BLOG interviews with Curtis over the past three days, Feeney inquired whether the company could build a "vote fraud software prototype".

At least three YEI employees are said to have been present at that meeting; Curtis, company owner, Mrs. Li Woan Yang, and her executive secretary, Mike Cohen. Two other YEI employees may have come in and out at different points of the meeting according to Curtis.

Curtis says that Feeney "was very specific in the design and specifications required for this program."

"He detailed, in his own words, that; (a) the program needed to be touch-screen capable (b) the user should be able to trigger the program without any additional equipment (c) the programming to accomplish this needed to stay hidden even if the source code was inspected."

Though there was no problem with the first two requirements, Curtis explained to the Congressman that it would be "virtually impossible to hide such code written to change the voting results if anyone is able to review the uncompiled source code"

Nonetheless, he was asked at the meeting by Mrs. Yang to build the prototype anyway.

Curtis, "a life-long Republican" at the time, claims that it was his initial belief that Feeney's interest was in trying to stop Democrats from using "such a program to steal an election". Curtis had assumed that Feeney, "wanted to be able to detect and prevent that if it occurred."

Upon delivery of the software design and documentation on CD to Mrs. Yang, Curtis again explained to her that it would be impossible to hide routines created to manipulate the vote if anybody would be able to inspect the precompiled source code.

Mrs. Yang then told him, "You don’t understand, in order to get the contract we have to hide the manipulation in the source code. This program is needed to control the vote in South Florida."

Why isn't this on the news???

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing... maybe it was reported but only briefly... perhaps we should somehow convince some news stations or newspapers to make a big deal of it?

EDIT: lol, I e-mailed The Toronto Star (newspaper) about it. I searched their archives but didn't find anything about Clinton Curtis so I gave them the links and asked them to look into it.
