On the show there was a family which were shot and cut to bits by a tribe group. Pretty sad story and UN should do something about it.

Okay,
Why is it that when US & British forces move into Iraq due, in large part, to the atrocities committed by Hussein against his people, the world screams in outrage...
Yet in a country where no one does anything to help, the screams are in anger that the UN (US, Brits, etc) isn't immediately on top of things and maintaining order?

Those screaming can't have it both ways.

People killed by the Baath regime were also innocent civilians....civilians who've been terrorized since 1943. Saddam and his regime committed many war crimes and atrocities on his own people, and those of Iran and Kuwait.
Should he have been allowed to destroy more than 3000 Kurdish villages?
Should he have been allowed to execute thousands of Shi'as, destroy their villages, poison their water supply?
How about the Anfal campaign in the 80s when, at Saddam's orders, over 5,000 Kurds were killed via chemical weapons dropped on Halabja? Most of those who died there were innocent civilians.

Remember, it is or it isn't.
This is the madman the US stopped. And how well are peaceniks responding to that??
If people keep screaming in outrage, the countries that have the ability to help aren't going to have the motivation to do so for fear of backlash.

Banshee:

Q: Should he have been allowed to destroy more than 3000 Kurdish villages?

A: Yes! Kurds are dangerous war mongers.. they wage war by terrorist means against Syria, Iran, Turkey and others..

Q: Should he have been allowed to execute thousands of Shi'as, destroy their villages, poison their water supply?

A: Executed Shiias where rebels shot after capture.. mostly.. served them RIGHT they were guilty of treason.. PUNISHMENT: DEAHT. This is common procedure during TIME OF WAR IN MANY NATIONS.. In US people can be sentenced to death for passing few FBI papers to RUSSIANs.. DURING TIME OF PEACE.

Q: How about the Anfal campaign in the 80s when, at Saddam's orders, over 5,000 Kurds were killed via chemical weapons dropped on Halabja? Most of those who died there were innocent civilians.

A: During that time Iraq was in WAR with Iran fighting for nations survival.. and the KURDS TURNED AGAINST THE GOVERMENT.. Killing 5000 is nothing.. even by chemical weapons. Would it been better to send couple of DIVISIONS? Ill bet those would killed MANY MORE.. but again KURDS WERE GUILTY OF TREASON. PUNISHMENT -> DEATH. And.. how can you say that most were INNOCENT civilians? What we have been show about the incedent is: photos of 20+ bodys.. allways the same pics.. HARDLY A EVIDENCE.

And only MADMAN AROUND IS BUSH JR.

Just remember what I said, then.
If people keep screaming in outrage, the wronged peoples (such as in Congo) are going to continue to bear it alone.

Very sad what is happening in many of the nations of Africa.

Its going to take the whole world to change their 'collective consciousness' to fix the many sad and terrible things that are and have been transpiring in Africa.
The UN is doing nothing more than standing and watching and throwing some .79 cent bandages up to slow the hemorrhaging....
