Seriously, I think that is what is refered to as an Lenticular cloud formation; unusual, but not at all rare.

Yep, good call. I've only seen such clouds on a couple of occassions, and man, they are weird looking.... Both times I've seen them, they were the only ones in the sky (other than maybe some high altitude cirrus clouds). I'd love to see a whole bunch of them some time though....quite beautiful...

Thanks for the compliments folks.
The 'cloud' actually remained in the sky for almost an hour. It was a 'little' spooky.

Did you watch the cloud go away? Where did it go? How did it leave?

Um............

Its called a lenticular cloud. They form around the peaks of mountains. Its not a UFO.

My father lives in Pahrump. I see them quite often over where he lives.

It is not a cloaked UFO

Ok. I'm curious, what does a cloaked UFO look like then?

Peace

I sent the photo to Chief Meteorologist John Fredericks in Las Vegas and this is what he said.

Your basic “lenticular” or mountain formed/shaped cloud. Common on windy days!

Thanks for thinking of me!

It finally after about an hour or so,,, just dissipated.

Who says UFOs cloak at all? Or would bother with it?

I say this because there is a normal explaination. Lenticular clouds. Thats exactly what this looks like. Clouds that are formed around mountain peaks by circular winds. We see them from time to time drift from Mt Rainier here, or Mt Baker. They are not very common, but they do happen, and are pretty neat looking.

Im yet to hear of any credible evidence that UFO's "cloak" in such clouds, or cloak at all. If anything, UFOs tend to be both elusibve and brazen in the same stroke.

So did it stay still in the same place for an hour or did it drift?

Also, did you see it change its form? Or did it keep it all the way through?

So it was indeed a lenticular cloud. But this is not always the case.....

I'm now wondering about the picture. I wonder if you had just a picture of a city. Then you cut out the picture of the ufo . then pasted it onto the city, and darkened the color of the ufo to make it match. Not saying you did this. But i could be possible.

nice pic !

anyways...can't recall where I read it, but it appears that we have the technology to do some pretty amazing things

including shaping some clouds !

this MAY or MAY NOT be one of those..I dunno.

if anyone else read that story and can recall the website , sure would appreciate it.

And they have been cited in any number of UFO sightings.

Beautiful photo, though

Yep.

Alto cumulus lenticularis. Caused by high winds aloft. Probably a mountain wave crested about there. Common over central and northern Nevada. The waves can extend clear to Utah under good conditions.

Well you can save the picture yourself and if you check the advanced properties you will see that it is unaltered from when the photo was taken, not that he would have any reason to fake this. It is a lenticular cloud formation as already has been said, a very interesting phenomenon but if you where going to bother faking anything one would think you would fake something better than a fancy cloud.

AgentSmith You pretty much captured the specs on my camera!!!

Tell em' it's real okay?

I believe UFO's could cloak themselves in clouds, but they probably wouldn't use the same shape. I know our airforce loves to fly, under cloud cover.

Hey AgentSmith what kind of toilet paper do I use?

No,, I'm not the (King of late night Radio) Art Bell simtek 22.
Art and Ramona are my neighbors, as the raven flies.

This is Art's place........

I'm north of Art Bell in the foothills of Mount Charleston. His loop antenna doesn't screw-up my television, just the U.F.O.'s.

I've seen these type of clouds out here in New Mexico from time to time. They are pretty cool when the conditions are right and you see them.

BTW- Does Art know you have your spy camera mounted in the Joshua trees.
