Wokesters online in NYC claim that having a dog in NYC is 'gentrifying settler-colonial'. Some are insinuating that owning a dog is 'white privilege'. All the right woke/dei/socialist buzzwords are being used. Something makes me think the complainers are GenZ or Millennials. No middle aged or older folks I know actually talk indoctrinated like that. There may be some out there, but I don't ever hear it.

Dog owners take their dogs for walks, and city laws make sure that they pick up their dogs poop so nothing is left behind. And I see plenty of hispanic and black people in my neighborhood walking their dogs alongside the white folks walking theirs. There is nothing 'gentrifying settler-colonial' or 'white privilege' about having a dog. I think there is just some stupidity and general dog hate going on here.

One post about picking up dog poop eventually spiraled into bonkers accusations that the pooches of PGL were “gentrifying the neighborhood.” Mia, a New York-born Latina, told the outlet upon reading this she wondered “Are they saying that only white people have dogs?”

Another woman with an off-leash dog was apparently confronted in Prospect Park by someone filming her with her cellphone camera. “She was asking me why I thought I was special, why my dog didn’t need to be leashed. Was it because of my white privilege?

“Dogs in large cities are essentially settler-colonial—a way for their owners to move into and occupy more of the urban space than they are allotted while making it everyone else’s problem,” the tweet reads in part.

Having something and taking care of it for its entire life and tending its needs IS totally foreign to them. The sheer notion that anyone would simply choose to do this is the hight of luxury in their eyes.

As far as them pissing about pet ownership, these idiots STILL have way too much time on their hands if this is their "issue". The display of mental illness is absolutely exhausting, and frankly boring and just sad.

I'm telling you....a couple more generations, perhaps even the very next will spell the end of the old paradigm that is currently being dismantled.

Schools are really screwing these kids up. K-12 curriculum changed late nineties and what you see is the results of the last 20-30 years of hardcore liberal arts majors cramming their poisonous ideologies and agenda into these young people.

That's why maybe one or two more generations and it's over. This level of absurdity and stupidity is a socioeconomic crash waiting to happen.

I can see why kids are mass-protesting. Humans are tribal, so one picks a 'cause', convinces others to follow, have a mass protest and get the one thing they never got growing up:attention.

Parents co-opted their duty to nurtue their progeny to video games, computers, cell phones and the like to keep the kids occpied.

Those pesky consequences are coming home to roost, and nobody can understand why it's happening.

People ignore those laws, and many dog owners dont clean up after their dogs, or let them run around off leash when they shouldnt be. I'm constantly having to avoid stepping in dog# left by inconsiderate dog owners in my neighborhood. Even when I see people out with their dogs, and letting them poop all over, and I ask them to please pick up the poop, and they tell me to eff off or whatever, and then I tell the apartment manager, and they don't do anything. But its not the dogs fault, its the stupid lazy owners fault, and being mean to the dogs or taking it out on them is evil. I love dogs.

Im not sure what woke activists have to do with this. I saw a couple stupid comments that were mind boggling stupid and claimed that crap about dogs being colonizers. People will drag politics into anything. I hate it. Why cant problems be problems and not have to drag politics into it? But it didnt look like activists, more like whining attention seeking antifa babies who need to make everything about oppression and racism, even when its not. But most the comments in the original article were pretty reasonable, mostly people complaining about NYC dog owners just being lazy and inconsiderate of others. Which I understand, even though I dont live there. But to call them colonizers and say only racist people have dogs is so stupid, I dont even know where to begin.

So the problem is with local police enforcing the law and same with the land lord.

Management issues being passed off to the public.

Laws on the books have to be enforced. Everyone litters because there is rarely if ever a consequence or one so minor as to be totally trivial. They are so inflated that they believe picking up after themselves literally is beneath them and not worth their time, they are to busy and to important to sweat the little things(in reality they are inconsequential but they believe they are the s h i !.


Now if you were to say heavy fine and publicly shame people. Like you litter or don’t pick up after yourself 1000$ fine minimum with public picture of your with a caption about how much of a looser you are.

If this happened to people when they litter well…I doubt they would.

If one thing the recent years has taunt me is that humans people are easily and heavy coercible given the proper pressures.

Mainly their safety and their wallets will get them to respond very rapidly. Plus the highly inflated egos of many on the social media scene. Gotta hit them wheee it hurts.

1000$ fine, public shaming, community service picking up not just your dog poop but all the dog poop of all the people we didn’t catch this time.

I've had dogs all my life, I must make sure from now on they're marking their “colonial” territory??

I think certain age groups are just angry they can't poop out side any more and have to clean up after themselves!

I do feel sorry for them, they can't afford to own a house because of their need to buy all the latest tech and faster broadband so they moan about everything they can't have or afford.

I really want this thread to be a hoax but the youth these days and the need to feel relevant has these kids doing and acting in extremely troubling ways. I know all of us did stupid crap when we were kids but not like how they do now days. If I had ever said some crap like that to my parents or my friends parents my ass would get lectured till my ears fell off. My house has no time for stupidity.
