No I haven't. I can look into when there is more time.

But I looked up a very brief summary of her report. I take no issue with further studies and setting higher standards for supporting the kids.

None of that changes the facts about there being an agenda or any of the other issues.

Or your tunnel vision. Not sure what this has to do with my plea to you. But as you said you didn't have time to respond to it all. (Quiet the wall of text!)

No need to respond to it really either, unless you feel you have something to say. I was just trying to put some things to think about in that head of yours.

If she is legit and there's nothing fishy about her research/goals (again I will have to look more into her later) it's a step in the right direction.

People with autism are also more susceptible to coercion, influence, or manipulation by people with authority. They also have a harder time distinguishing fact from fiction in any situations.

Yeah, I think she's arguing that trannies are a bunch of retards.

Wow, I agree with Annie for once

Trannies is a derogatory term.

Neuroscience/Neurodiversity -- you are your brain.

I'm saying transgenders are born transgender.

You are born homosexual. You are born autistic.

YES. More specialists, more studies, more research.

Agenda? NO. I've been through all that with my ADHD kid -- back in 1974. "It's not real, just an excuse to drug kids, all they need is a good spanking".

And today I'm dealing with getting the right support for Autsim.

Tracing the history of gender-neutral pronouns -- it is NOT a new thing.

The earliest example he found, from 1841, is “e,” with “em” for the object and “es” for the possessive. Others include “zie” or “hir,” the latter of which was used by The Sacramento Bee newspaper for 25 years, Baron said.

Authors including Shakespeare often have used the singular “they.”

The singular “they” is used all the time in speech, he said. “It’s such an ingrained part of the language, people don’t even notice it.

“It was a curiosity. Somebody coined pronouns because they felt a word was missing from English,” he said. “A few of the words made it into dictionaries. None of them ever achieved widespread use.

“One word that seems to be filling the gap is the singular ‘they,’” he said.

Some people object to using “they” as a singular pronoun, but Baron points out that “you” at one time was strictly a plural pronoun. It wasn’t accepted as singular until the 17th century.

Authors including Shakespeare often have used the singular “they.”

“Writers, if they want to conceal somebody’s gender or if gender is irrelevant, need to have a word, and the only word we have is ‘they,’” Baron said. “There are examples where writers use the singular ‘they’ to create suspense or to create comedy. There’s a place in ‘The Pickwick Papers’ where Dickens uses it to conceal gender for a page or so. Agatha Christie puts it in Hercule Poirot’s mouth: ‘I’m using the generic male, but the killer could be a woman.’ You see it all over the place as a literary device.”

The pronoun debate, particularly in the 19th century, involved legal as well as literary implications, Baron said. The courts and government debated whether the use of the generic “he” in law excluded women.

“Suffragists argued from the 1870s to the early 1900s that if ‘he’ is treated as generic in criminal law, then the voter ‘he’ should include women as well,” Baron said.

Annee, maybe reread that wall of text I posted.

You and I have never disagreed more research, studies, specialists, concerning gender dysphoria would be a great thing. And in case you were under some other impression, I am aware and have always acknowledged that not all methods of support (counsellors, qualified doctors, friends, family, etc.) are part of an agenda.

You refuse to acknowledge though, or even consider, all the darker stuff.

I think it's because of fear.

Fear that children will suffer and be pushed away and cast out from society.

It's giving you some sort of Stockholm Syndrome.

NO, I don't. Not fear.

It just doesn't do any good to focus on that. There is always "side effects" in everything.

I think it is harmful that anyone think they have to be "one or the other" -- why not be OK being who you are?

I personally think early intervention with specialists and acceptance from the outside world -- will result in less invasive methods.

Annee, before just now, I thought you were someone who might be capable of changing some of your viewpoints. Even despite yourself. I thought that you just might care so much, that when shown that some of your views are damaging, you'd have a moment of realization.

Kind of thought you'd read my post even though it was long, because I thought we had some rapport. Compared to how some of these other threads and "conversations" you have with others go.

I should have known better.

I know you have "issues" that bother you and are important to you.

My focus is moving forward.

One thing I've learned nearing the end of my life -- You Can't Save The World.

You can make it better for those yet to come.
