"It really isn’t a sin to see the world through a different perspective…being overly selective of one’s personal programmed mindset…however…does get a tad repetitious…and programmed…"

I agree. I highly commend such an approach to your good self.

I have tried to be your friend…extended my hand in open and honest friendship…

I realize obviously the difficult nature of anonymous online communication…that honest intent is often misread and morphed in the mind of the misreader…into the opposite of it’s intended message…

Know also…that I have ceased rising to the bait…and I will honestly try to let go my cynicism…that hides beneath my optimism…

Your are indeed correct my friend…

Such an approach would suit any soul…as it travels it’s way through this absolutely amazing chance to be extant…to be alive…to be heard…

And then to listen…

I was brought up on Asimov, Heinlein, E.E. "Doc" Smith and all the classics.

Nowadays I like Hard Sci Fi" especially the late Ian M Banks, Peter F Hamilton and also alternate reality such as Jon Birmingham's Axis of Time novels.

You may particularly enjoy the many books in the Kirov series.

"On the eve of America's greatest victory in the Pacific, a catastrophic event disrupts the course of World War II, forever changing the rules of combat. . . .
The impossible has spawned the unthinkable. A military experiment in the year 2021has thrust an American-led multinational armada back to 1942, right into the middle of the U.S. naval task force speeding toward Midway Atoll--and what was to be the most spectacular U.S. triumph of the entire war.

Thousands died in the chaos, but the ripples had only begun. For these veterans of Pearl Harbor--led by Admirals Nimitz, Halsey, and Spruance--have never seen a helicopter, or a satellite link, or a nuclear weapon. And they've never encountered an African American colonel or a British naval commander who was a woman and half-Pakistani. While they embrace the armada's awesome firepower, they may find the twenty-first century sailors themselves far from acceptable."

I was profoundly touched by a novel of his I read as a much younger person, the ideas stayed with me lingering in the back of my mind like the echos of deja vu or some other jarring experience.

"City" was the book, poignant and melancholy.

Amazing. brilliant.
