Naval Aviation having a really bad day

I was particularly interested in the carrier USS FORRESTAL which had a really bad day with over 100 lost souls.

The old straight deck Carriers were an accident just waiting to happen IMO but they worked good enough for the Pacific fleet to defeat Japan; so at least there is that!
