Nothing is a surprise anymore for most of us now. Unfortunately, it requires this level of stupidity being exposed repeatedly before the people get upset enough to do something about the criminal element operating as officers of the land within the halls of justice.

Easy fix given that they know already.
I'm sure they don't really keep super secret stuff out but if they do I'm sure it's all good now.
So let us observe.
What would you suggest?

What are the potential outcomes of doing such a move?

Yeah, I remember the last one had a base the size of 2 school busses plus we have no idea if it contains chemical or biological warfare. Definitely don't want that landing wherever it lands.

Biden will miss getting this one, and in 2 weeks will shoot down another boy scouts balloon instead, and CNN will claim he saved the day.

Then Pelosi will get even more drunk, enough to intoxicate the entire appropriations committee.

That's our current USA leadership. (It sounds like a joke, but it really isn't, this has already happened!)

Ole Joey got a fat payout from China for authorizing it.

Problem is - Joey doesn’t have the authorization…

COME ON MAN!!!

They had to have known about it way before now, unless it just materialized out of nowhere.

This is getting absurd - Clown World in full effect

How soon before it gets shot down?

Fighter jets are honing in on it, almost as fast as DTOM can spot a porn link…

Current statements say it is no threat, not maneuverable, and being tracked by NORAD.

Anything in US airspace without authorization should be fair game. And addressed immediately; do NOT allow it a chance to do whatever it's doing over American soil.

If China throws another hissy fit over losing another "weather" balloon, tell them tough # and that our policy hasn't changed.

Um, over our own sovereign airspace and land ?
I would imagine the outcome would be some general agreement that spying, trespassing, and military provocation is bad ? I suppose this is a really surprising idea ……

Oh, gosh, maybe dispose of it as soon as it enters our airspace / borders, and not let it gather intel over half the country, for days.
You know, exactly as every other slightly serious country does. Especially China. Did you know that they’re not letting us buy up lots of land in China around their military bases ? But we let them do it.

What we need is for one of these balloons to crash. Just for scientific purposes so we can figure out whether Roswell was just a balloon or what.

Biden and co have to “accidentally” not notice anything until China’s main mission / goal is complete. This is what keeps the payoffs and blackmail under wraps.
Shoot it down after they’re done, they act upset for a day, everybody got what they needed.
