Oh, that's good.
Shooting ballistic missiles at international shipping is a bad thing.

The other thing, however, is that it was Joe Biden who decided in February, 2021 that the Houthis were NOT terrorists, after he rescinded Trump's terror designation of the Houthis.
This was one of the first things Joe Biden did as President.

The Trump administration declared the group — which had at the time already been listed as a specially designated global terrorist — as a foreign terrorist organization in January 2021

Less than a month later, the Biden administration removed the Houthis from both terrorism lists

www.washingtonpost.com...

Obama said it BEST:
"Don't underestimate Joe Biden's ability to F- things up!"

Obama's Sec. Def., Robert Gates, ALSO had Joe Biden's number, when he said:
"I think he [Biden] has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades”.

Once again...Trump was right.

And Biden?
He's an F-ing idiot vegetable...who has no clue what he is doing.
Never has...Never will.

Taking them off the terrorist watch list enabled them (the Houthis) to arm themselves and go about plotting terrorism attacks because (under the Biden administration) they were not a danger to us or anyone else.

If a group is identified as a terrorist organization...shouldn't they be "taken out" like ISIS? Oh wait, because it's a double standard for many groups like BLM...so can't really do much. It's like those kids that can't play nicely in the sandbox but you keep letting them into the sandbox even though they keep ruining your sandcastle.

I wonder how many have crossed our southern border in the last three years? We're ripe for every terrorist organization that wants to bring 'the great satan' down.

Thanks, Branden.

The other day Biden said The Houthis not on the terrorist lists doesn't matter. So why did he take them off the lists if it doesn't matter? 😀😃

Because Trump put them on the list because "Orange Man Bad"...and Biden wanted Iran to like him.

Clearly, Biden thought the Houthis were 'mostly peaceful' terrorists.

It doesn't matter from the standpoint of being able to shoot down Houthi missiles in the Red Sea and to conduct retaliatory air strikes in Yemen. The POTUS as the Commander in Chief has the authority to conduct military actions for defensive purposes--which he did. That would be true whether the Houthis were a designated terrorist organization or not.

Here's the announcement from February, 2021 when they were taken off the list:

"Effective February 16, I am revoking the designations of Ansarallah, sometimes referred to as the Houthis, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) under the Immigration and Nationality Act and as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, as amended.

This decision is a recognition of the dire humanitarian situation in Yemen. We have listened to warnings from the United Nations, humanitarian groups, and bipartisan members of Congress, among others, that the designations could have a devastating impact on Yemenis’ access to basic commodities like food and fuel. The revocations are intended to ensure that relevant U.S. policies do not impede assistance to those already suffering what has been called the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. By focusing on alleviating the humanitarian situation in Yemen, we hope the Yemeni parties can also focus on engaging in dialogue.

Ansarallah leaders Abdul Malik al-Houthi, Abd al-Khaliq Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and Abdullah Yahya al-Hakim remain sanctioned under E.O. 13611 related to acts that threaten the peace, security, or stability of Yemen. We will continue to closely monitor the activities of Ansarallah and its leaders and are actively identifying additional targets for designation, especially those responsible for explosive boat attacks against commercial shipping in the Red Sea and UAV and missile attacks into Saudi Arabia. The United States will also continue to support the implementation of UN sanctions imposed on members of Ansarallah and will continue to call attention to the group’s destabilizing activity and pressure the group to change its behavior."

www.state.gov...

Being a designated FTO under the Immigration and Nationality Act basically means that US entities such as banks cannot do business with them. Because the Houthis controlled large portions of Yemen--even parts that were not pro-Houthi-- the inability of the Houthis to do business with international aid organizations was starving and killing large numbers of innocent Yemenis. Biden wanted to allow humanitarian aid to get through to Yemen, while still keeping the Houthi leaders sanctioned. Which is what happened.

Trump had placed the Houthis on the FTO list literally the last day before he left office. Probably as a parting favor to the Saudis. Might have something to do with why Jared Kushner got a 2 Billion Dollar sweetheart investment deal from the Saudis a few months after leaving office.

I’m not a big fan of lists…

But they weren’t a threat to the shipping lines while on the list like they are now….

Funny what happens as we release billions to Iran?

It's not so much that Trump was right, it is that most things Biden has done are not very smart. Biden never should have been allowed to run for president with his attitude coupled to his mental state.

I blame this more on the people who talked him into running for president and deceived the people into believing he was in sound mind.

Biden's new, CRAZY Administration, decided early-on that Houthi were the good guys. From February 2021...

The administration of President Joe Biden has formally delisted Yemen’s Houthi movement as a “foreign terrorist organization” and “Specially Designated Global Terrorists”, undoing the last-minute move under former President Donald Trump that the United Nations and aid groups said threatened to further devastate the war-torn country.

The move comes as the Biden administration continues to change tack on the US approach to the war in Yemen, announcing on February 4 that it would end the US support for offensive operations for the Saudi Arabia-led coalition that intervened in Yemen’s civil war in 2015, a year after the northern-based Houthis kicked President Abdu-Rabbu Mansour out of the capital Sanaa.

he is apparently only designating them the lowest possible level of terrorist.

Apparently trying to sink ships and disrupt international shipping is no longer that big a deal.

God forbid he actually take accountability for his actions.

I read about that. Bare minimal terrorists, lol. Keeps Iran from getting angry at Biden. An angry Iran would spill the beans on what Obama-Biden-Kerry did with money laundering.

The “terrorists” that have freedom of religion and protect international shipping? Vs the terrorists that what a one world religion? And try to disrupt shipping and shipping lanes?

It’s like blaming cops for using violence while ignoring an active shooter situation.

Protect international shipping?. Deary me.

What do you think Sanctions against another nation do? Who has been responsible for the sanctioning of late?

And who gives a rat's arse about religion. As far as I can see it's the cause of everyone's problems. I would go as far as to say it's a mental health issue.
