I thought this was interesting. Air Force research has sought out a government contract for EMP weapons that can be directed and used on drones. They outline what the capabilities must be and note that air deployable system must be deemed flight worthy.

ZeroHedge
According to the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website, the US Air Force has published a contract opportunity for private industry titled "Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Defense Against Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)."

The service outlined the drone-killing features of the new EMP weapon it is seeking:

"The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/RI) is conducting market research to seek information from industry on the landscape of research and development (R&D) for available Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) solutions towards countering multiple Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). EMP solutions could be ground and/or aerial based that provide effective mitigation against Department of Defense (DoD) UAS groups 1, 2, and smaller group 3 aircraft."

As for an aerial-based EMP weapon, the service explained:

"Any EMP solutions hosted on air vehicles will have to be determined to be air-worthy by the Government. DoD must comply with the following general restrictions on UAS: 1. The air vehicle must be based on or derived from US components and electronics. 2. The air vehicle must have sufficient flight hours and reliability data."

The proposed EMP weapon would be able to neutralize drones with a directed EMP blast to damage the electronic parts - this is a much cheaper solution than missiles that cost tens of thousands of dollars, if not hundreds of thousands, a piece.

I recall that Turkey has already demonstrated their laser anti drone tech on the Libyan battlefield.

They just better not sell this to Ukraine. The last thing we need is for the drug cartels or Hamas to bring down planes with EMP stuff.

This is an eye opener to those of us that thought we could shootem down.

Looks like fun practicing though.

Another one? That is like the fourth or fifth official one I have heard of.

Just a quick search found this from a few years ago.

Let's hope they fail. There is zero shielding in any computer networks or home computers. Gets in the wrong hands and just about anything with electronics is toast.

They have perfected the laser in the video below, but is the EMF laser something different - is is am EMF burst type weapon to take down a swarm of drones as opposed to one drone?

This is Govement disinfomation.
to make the enemies think they dont have it.
so they keep building easy kill drones.

WWII they knew the german sub codes.
but they did not stop the small attacks.
if germany knew they would send fake messages.

and it is easy to build.
No I will not say.

Police in Metro Detroit have a radio controlled car for chases...they get behind, "fire-send " the radio car under vehicle, flip the switch, a pulse blows out the electric system.

These began in earnest during Reagan admin.....We've already had them, and the radio freqs shot at workers...were developed them here ...(as in the Cuban-emp-whatever case).

Havana Syndrome. Nasty and insidious business.....but it's been here...

yes they are going after swarms of drones just like in the video posted by Edumakated from Angel has Fallen.

Well those rifles are being produced by a handful of companies in most developed nations. They thankfully, do not have the power to knock out planes. This particular technology is seeking the power to anhialate entire swarms, including from air deployable assets as well as land based system.

I do believe I have seen such a device advertised in someones news as a new tool in law enforcement in the past. I actually forgot about them though. Thanks for ther reminder.
