Fortunately, the parade went around the protestors and proceeded as normal as possible, according to the local news. I'm not sure but from what I can tell, they must have diverted over one block then back on route but don't quote me.

They plan for this parade all year and frankly, people need this bit of enjoyment in the midst of all the worldly and local chaos. Shame on the protestors for trying to ruin it for so many people.
