Did NBC pull some strings to get hostages released?

Been reading up on an article about the recently released Hamas hostages, Judith Ranaan and her daughter Natalie.

"Judith and Natalie, who are both related to former Israel-based NBC correspondent Martin Fletcher, were taken captive from Nahal Oz, one of several kibbutzim near the Gaza border that were hit hard in Hamas’ attack.

"Speaking on the TODAY show on Monday, Fletcher said he did not know why Judith and Natalie were singled out for the release."
