Woe on the officials of any state who allow Donald Trump to be disqualified there.

Being eligible is.

The right to run for office, is a qualified privilege, in my opinion. It's qualified by local community standards, state statutes and federal laws. There are residency restrictions, citizenship requirements, financial obligations and filing and signature requirements.

This is not the case with the 1st, 2nd, 5th or any of the constitutional amendments.

So you think the citizens who protested on 1/6 are enemies of the USA? Way to put it all out there. There is no reason to not allow him on the ballot in any state.

The fact the SCOTUS ruled on this, ruled on the 2000 election but not 2020 also tells us a lot.

The show must go on....

I think the ones convicted of sedition are.

Well okay then!

SCOTUS ruled on what? They decided not to intervene. Perhaps, when some state actual does deny Trump a place on the state ballot, SCOTUS will get involved. Lord knows, it was their overlords that put this theory out there!

Yes, and we all know what opinions are like... and in this case, where yours comes from.

And, it seems that any 'ole state AG or state SOS can accuse Trump of insurrection, of at the very least, of giving aide and confort to the enemies of the USA, and refuse to allow Trump's name on the ballot.

Is that what you gleaned from the SCOTUS refusing to hear the case?

What you suggest is to skip due process to strip an American citizen of their rights....

Sure. Then, Trump could sue in the lower courts and petition SCOTUS to challenge the decision.

And that is exactly the problem.

Only in regards to due process.

That part they simply cannot get around.
