This country singer is complaining that "the Trump years" divided the country, and "revealed who people really were and that they were proud to be misogynistic and racist and homophobic and transphobic."

Maren Morris announced she is leaving country music due to the effects the “Trump years” have had on the music genre. She's saying people used to play out of true joy or love of the music.

“I thought I’d like to burn it to the ground and start over.” Build Back Better. Sounds familiar. Her 'philosophical' rant just ends up being a melodramatic speech that's all about HER.

I've never been a big country music fan, but I like real, old school country, and as far back as I can remember, there have always been country songs praising conservative values. Those people were anti-woke long before woke became a thing.

"Because you can't starve us out, and you can't make us run, 'cause we're them old boys raised on shotguns.
We say grace, and we say "Ma'am"...If you ain't into that we don't give a damn.
We came from the West Virginia coal mines, and the Rocky Mountains, and the Western Skies"
...Hank Williams Jr.

That's funny! Never heard of her....

I'm sure her departure will change the entire face of country music.

I grew up on real country music; Jim Reeves, Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Horton, etc. When it blended with rock, pop and hip-hop I quit listening.

Never heard of her either.

But as when any diva storms out, good riddance and good luck with whatever greener pastures she finds.

This really does make a lot of sense.

I'm sure she'll be missed by trillions.

When I was a kid, there was a cool bar and grill down on the corner.
The old Wurlitzer jukebox had a couple Johnny Horton songs.
"North to Alaska" and "Sink the Bismarck".

I never forgot those lyrics "out of the cold and foggy night came the British ship the Hood"

We all know who divided the country during the Trump years.

Millions of crying, whining idiots like her and they are still hanging around crying.

Maren who? Never heard of it. (Wouldn't want to assume its gender, you know.) I won't even bother to look it up on the Internet.

Anyway ... Hey, Maren! This is all the vibe I'm getting:

I feel ya, dude. Me, too.

This song almost made weep - from nostalgia, not sadness - as it made me realize that I've finally arrived the old man stage.

I love it how John says "Bakersfield."

God knows we aren't responsible for ourselves, especially since Trump took office.

I looked her up, she is pretty, but with a permanent look like she constantly asking "who farted?"

Stop whining, get with the program and make a Pro Trump rap video already.

Steve Johnson also left country music. He blamed Maren Morris.

I was late to the joy of country music, and totally agree.

I had a training instructor in the USAF that had that expression but even worse. He looked like the whole world to him stank. Lol

We had great laughs and jokes at his expense because to add insult to injury, he had a high pitched voice too that didn't match his body portions let's just say, lol

Imo, she's not pretty and it ain't gunna get any better either. I have different tastes I suppose.

Whispering Pines was my all-time favorite JH song.

I forgot to mention my favorite female country singer-Patsy Cline! Whenever I'm using my long-arm quilting machine I've got her playing.

What i am gathering from the article you posted is that

The LA Times confirms that Morris now plans to release music on Columbia Records, the label’s more generalist arm, instead of Columbia Nashville, moving forward.

So. She wasn't making enough money or selling enough albums doing country pop so now she just wants to do pop. Simple enough. Why not just say that instead of blaming Trump. What a non-genuine person. Will fit into the bubblegum pop scene well I'm sure.
