I was wondering what songs the Beatles might write about Covid 19. I thought they might be something along the lines of hidden sarcasm concerning governments overreach. Thought I run the idea through ChatGPT out of curiosity.

ChatGPT sure didn’t support the idea.

So. My thought process while talking about masks today was, I know it’s not a Beatle song, was taking my future is so bright I have to wear sunglasses to my future is so bright I have to wear a mask. That got me wondering what Imagine by John Lennon would be like if written after covid. Then thinking about the Beatles.

I think Beatles that wrote Helter Skelter, Come Together, I Am the Walrus, the day in the life would have wrote one or two songs full of double meaning and cynicism concerning the abuse of power during covid, and the double standard exhibited by those in government.

I agree, they would have spoken out in song. But I don't think they would have hid behind double meanings. If you listen to the songs above, Taxman and Revolution especially, you can see they didn't pull any punches. They flat out said what they meant. You have to remember, The Beatles were so huge they influenced the world in a lot of ways. That made them feel indestructable and not afraid to speak their minds.

If you really want to find out, ask it to write a program to get into government computer systems and find material on aliens/secret space programs/cover ups or conspiracies to defraud the tax payer.

Count the minutes till the sirens come and your front door gets kicked in.

That shows (again) that AI is not really intelligent.

It probably wrote the songs with words and metric of Beatles songs but it failed to understand their way of thinking.

It would be interesting to see what it would write if you asked for a song from a more "activist" song writer.

I don't understand the assumption that the Beatles would be critical of the current Western Governments. I think they would be in support of them, just like most of the current entertainment professionals.

With the assumption that the Beatles were part of the counter cultural during their peek; that counter culture has now become the dominant culture. Why would the Beatles be against what they helped to bring about?

The Beatles would be wearing their masks and singing about all the "deplorables" who aren't.

Its funny how close this stuff gets to what you imagine it would be.

I did a few "Write a story about..." ones in the style of Philip K Dick, Isaac Azimov and Arthur C Clarke...the results were quite astounding until I realised that because I went into it with an idea of what the writing should be like, my brain was automatically looking for these things and then giving me the aha moment, sort of like how once you start thinking about red cars you see loads.
