Rumours Yevgeny Prigozhin is still alive

According to some rumours the leader of the wagner group is still alive. This piece of news had some extensive coverage from much of the mainstream and it came from a Russian political analyst who claimed Yevgeny Prigozhin is alive and well and the person killed in the accident is a doppelganger who was actually killed in the accident.

Following reports about Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin being killed in a plane crash, a Russian political analyst has alleged that the warlord is still “alive, well and free”, claiming that it was his doppelganger who was actually killed in the accident.

Alleging that Prigozhin foiled an assassination attempt sanctioned by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dr Valery Solovey claimed that the Wagner boss is now plotting his revenge. Solovey is a former professor at Moscow’s Institute of International Relations, which trains spies and diplomats

“First, the plane in which Yevgeny Prigozhin was supposed to fly was downed by a Russian air defence system,” Daily Mail quoted Solovey as saying. “There was no explosion on board. It was downed from the outside.”

“How did he end up alive while his close people died? This is the choice he [Prigozhin] was faced with. I'm not talking about the moral side of this choice. God forbid any of us face such a choice. He intends to take revenge for having been faced with such a choice. He intends to take revenge on people who were intending to destroy him, and destroyed people close to him,” he added

One the things I ask myself sometimes is “well, how could xxxxxx be true?” Meaning, if the statement in question is that it was the body double killed and he’s a live - and if that’s true… what would or could it mean?

If true, it would signal to me that Prigozhin may have had a heads up that this was coming. Putin could never acknowledge that - ever. It’s a lose lose for him. So, he buried Priozhin, thanks him for his service, and denies any involvement. No other way to play it. But, the guy who was lost in a “tragic plane crash” also organized a military coup against said Putin but weeks ago.

Adding to the possibility this may be true is that Prigozhin had likely pissed off more than one person given his line of work. I would expect that his security and intel network is vast and well connected. If that network picked something up, deploy the double.

If Prigozhin is alive, I can’t imagine he has a lot of good feels about Putin. That would be very bad for Putin should Prigozhin decide to do something about it.

All of that said, I would be they got him. Even though it’s the same people who are giving us the DNA findings and also denying missile involvement - not the cleanest source of truth - my hunch is he is in fact dead.

But, when it all went down in the first place my first reaction was “hit” and then a sneaking suspicion they didn’t get him because of the response. Since I can build a path to saying he’s alive that doesn’t sound like the plot of a Bond movie - meaning it’s reasonably achievable given his resources - I can’t discredit the chance he is still alive.

Time will tell on this one, I suppose.

Heh when this happened, my first thought was, was he on the plane?

I'd say we can use common sense. If he was still alive Putin would never have made the statement about his death. I know Putin knows he is dead his actions show this.

The only conspiracy left is who orgastraighted it for Putin. I doubt it was a military General.

It seems the guy has some form when it comes to making outlandish claims.

I think the quoted portion that shows Solovey to be a bit of a nutter invalidates the hypothesis , your mileage may vary.

He was asked to resign from the University he worked at in 2019.

what a surprise. there was no proof he was killed.
