My MIL hates tele marketers. HATES them.
My in laws are in their mid 70s and constantly getting calls for something. Burial insurance, life insurance and today is was supplemental health insurance. She came up with a new tactic a while back and enjoys keeping them on the phone for as long as possible to waste their time. There is one that she uses that's short and to the point that I'm gonna have to remember when they start calling me. They offered burial plots and she told them "We're not worried about it, we got 160 acres and a backhoe"....and they actually do.

They call today and offered the insurance and she said they were too old for that. The guy told her age doesn't matter and " you can never be too careful, one operation and bad health can put you in the poorhouse" He kept trying to get her to tell her age saying "I've heard it all". She said "Well, I'm 92 and John is 95, but we're in pretty good health".
The guy asked about medications and she said "We don't take any" the guy ask "none at all ?" and she told him "Nothing except those 2 little pills, one is John's birth control and the other is my Viagra....wait a minute...maybe we got those backwards. That's probably why I'm horny all the time"

The tele marketer hung up.

This made my day.
Excellent work and bless your in Laws

I remember staying at an ex’s Mum’s one weekend.
Usual Microsoft bellends phones in the AM.
She told them she ran Linux and her Daughter’s boyfriend worked for IT at a bank.
Phone cut off immediately.
She was grinning and I was impressed.

if I get a person, I ask for their home address. I will not speak to them beyond asking for that. To date, no takers. If they do offer an address, I'll come up with a second intrusive question. But the robo calls make me sad, all the vile disgusting things I ask them to do is for nothing but my amusement.

My hubby is great entertainment at family gatherings when we get one of those calls; he plays the part of a confused idiot that turns every question back on the....at least, I think he's 'playing'.

He's been hung up on with every single call and it's become one of the best parts of family get-to-gathers.

I just tell them to take me off their calling list, and if they keep calling I threaten to turn them in to the FCC. Yes, I'm a party pooper because I'm not the wit my best half is.

I'm getting less calls these days...

I answer: "Spam Calls Incorporated! How may I direct your call?"

So far, has worked every time!

They called once offering me Netflix. I told them I had something much, much better than Netflix.

"What's that? HBO? We can do better than HBO."

"Nope. I have a library card."

Poor guy did not know how to answer that one.
