I just saw a thread about this song on ATS but can't find it now. I started listening to it on a loop because it sounded so familiar and nostalgic but I couldn't place why. Then I started trying to make out the lyrics.

I'm a fan of analog horror, supernatural horror, anomalies, the SCP universe, the backrooms, etc. This was a joy to listen to because as I typed out the lyrics they are really sinister and in complete juxtaposition to the happy-go-lucky oldies vibe of the song.

like the wind
it came running
chase the constant friends of israel
there's no face
there's no tomorrow
there's no sense of communication
check it in check it out but the sun will never shine
but they're on their way to somewhere in your mind (somewhere of your mind?)
like the wind
you're on a summer (you're in a summer?)
there's no place
there's no sorrow
here's a young and restless freeman
check it in check it out but the sun will never shine
but they're on their way to somewhere in your mind
check it in check it out but the sun will never shine
but they're on their way to somewhere in your mind
check it in check it out the sun will lose
check it in check it out we re-reduce (re-reuse?)
check it in check it out the sun will lose (son will lose?)
check it in check it out we re-reduce
check it in check it out the sun will lose
check it in check it out we re-reduce
check it in check it out the sun will lose
check it in check it out we re-reduce
check it in check it out the sun will lose
check it in check it out we re-reduce

I listened to a youtube who investigated it and is convinced it originated somewhere in eastern Germany in the 1980's. I think he is right on the money. It sounds like some kind of old world curse upon the listener, to place a seed in the mind of the allies of Israel.

Totally a real-life SCP object.

I've heard that Russians are really superstitious, especially those who live in rural Russia. This sounds like something they would throw together when they lost control of east Germany.

It all makes sense when you think of it as a hidden, faceless evil that takes root in the mind of the listener.

What doesn't make sense is the one line "here's a young and restless freeman"?

Why even bother adding that line? Is it like a target for the spell? They must assume young people listen to rock and roll, and that line must serve as a target lock or something?

This is funny #. I love it.

If a mod wants to merge this into that thread I'm fine with that.

The second video in the OP has the lyrics in captions. The Israel line, and some others, are interpreted differently. I agree, it's a little depressing, but it goes with the era and geographical location.
